Why do some people ask questions on here that can easily be found out through a google search?

cuz they lazy -                 and dumb

Maybe there testing general knowledge. Or

Asking troll question, to be funny. Or

Could be lazy. A lot of homework help questions.

Because they're lazy and apparently not very bright.  For instance, you can type "what is the tallest building in Minneapolis?" or you could just go to google and type "tall buildings Minneapolis".  Some people have no sense.

 Things posted on Google tend to be old, flawed, and in most cases outdated. That is why I prefer to speak to people that actually went through my situation. They tend to have knowledge and expertise.

They want to participate here and it gives users an opportunity to answer and show off their knowledge .

Boredom and loneliness would be my guess
