How can Democrats negotiate when republicans make and offer the refuse to budge?
Republicans offered a rescue plan that was a third of Biden’s plan and when he didn’t want to cut it so much, all republicans voted against it, even though polls show many conservative voters (46%) were for it. They are using the same tactic for the infrastructure plan. Republicans want users to pay for the program instead of the wealthy or no Republican will vote for it.
They did the same for the Affordable Care Act vs Obama. Even when Obama modified the plan to cater to republicans, no Republican voter for the final bill. The ACA and the current ARA are very popular yet no republicans voted for either.
Democrats are trying to deliver for the majority while republicans don’t want to get involved. It’s no secret that both plans would tax the most wealthy. America’s majority is tired of nothing getting done with republicans only giving all the tax breaks to the most wealthy and expecting the average worker to pay for everything.
