Can somebody explain the appeal of modern metal?

Define "modern metal".  If you're listening to American garbage like Metallica, Megadeth, etc. you really don't know what METAL is.

That music is death-core, if you don't like death-core there are other kinds of metal, they don't all sound like a washing machine trust me on that.

Not sure what guitar playing has to do with any of it.....but as far as the appeal of modern metal in general... it think it would be kind of hard to build automobiles without it, don’t you?

This has been asked of metal since it began. Today we realize that metal heads are the smart people in socitey. As I told people years ago, " it's their own lack of mental capacity that leaves them searching for this music's attraction".

Can somebody explain the appeal of modern metal?
