Why is it racist to require an ID to vote but not racist to require an ID to purchase a gun ?

Update:

Anonymous- I’m white and had to wait hours to vote. Was that racist?

Update 2:

Ivan - actually there is no Constitutional right to vote

Update 3:

Ivan - the President is selected by electors . There is nothing that states those electors are selected by a vote. A state can pull the elector names out of a hat to choose electors.

As far as your other quite... yes a person. Cannot be denied the right to vote based on color or gender. But there is nothing to say that a vote must take place ... only that if it does it cannot be arbitrarily discriminatory

Right! Both are constitutional rights, both can be dangerous. I think there should be a universal background check by the FBI on all registered voters too. Let the feds sift thru all their personal business just to make sure they are actually fit to vote. That would cut down on voter fraud and foreign interference in our elections.  EDIT:

"Framers of this amendment (14th) threatened the loss of congressional representation if that state were to deny the right to vote to any of its (male) U.S. citizens over the age of 21, unless he participated in a crime.

Since the addition of the 14th Amendment, the U.S. Constitution has been amended four more times to prohibit states from denying the right to vote based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude (15th Amendment), sex (19th Amendment), failure to pay poll tax (24th Amendment), and age, 18 years and older (26th Amendment)."

Scotus has also affirmed the American right to vote.

Because it is racist some types people have a harder time getting an id because of institutionalised racism, and other types of people are more likely to purchase guns fro stores or gun showsZ.

Or rent equipment from a Home Depot. Or fly on Delta Airlines. Those corporations are just being weak and divisive over a lie Biden told. They fear the Left, and not Americans. (And Will Smith! I thought he had a mind of his own!)

It's not racist to require either one. It's classism, not racism to require both of them.

What's racist is assuming someone can't obtain an identification because of their race when it's about money, not race.

Eta: if it was racism rather than classism they would 100% BOTH be racism requirements just like how they're both 100% classism requirements.

How'd you have to wait for hours to vote? That's a lie. You could've voted through mail in ballot. You CHOSE to wait for hours to vote in person.

Why is it OK to force non-white people to stand in line for hours to vote?

I forgot that the Vegas shooter killed 58 people in < 10 minutes with nothing more than blank paper ballots.

    .

Clearly, gun violence is a major issue in the country. The type of voter fraud that tighter voter ID restrictions would "solve" is almost completely nonexistent, and nothing more than a Republican plot to disenfranchise likely-Democratic voters.
