The Supreme Court is working through these types of state laws ruling they are totally UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The U.S. Constitution is a secular document. It begins, "We the people," and contains no mention of "God" or "Christianity." Its only references to religion are exclusionary, such as, "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust" (Art. VI), and "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" (First Amendment). The presidential oath of office, the only oath detailed in the Constitution, does not contain the phrase "so help me God" or any requirement to swear on a bible (Art. II, Sec. 1, Clause 8).

Obviously because they can, since many blue laws have been passed.

Fundies are convinced that they have a divine right to tell the rest of the country how to live and to force their rules on the rest of us. If you suggest that maybe they don't have that right they start crying about persecution.

A person can better honor the Day of the Lord by reciting the rosary of the Virgin Mary every day with care and sincerity.

I don't. We tried and they responded by dumping a shipment of our valuable tea in the Boston Harbor. The USA has been operating on it's own ever since.

We (as a whole people, not just fundies)
have been convinced by our education
that "majority rules"
and "majority establishes law".
In other words: it's because we live in a democracy.
