I watch Blu Ray movie discs on my Laptop using an old 2013 Blu Ray Drive that only has 1 port on the back of it that says USB 2.0 ?

The quality of the movies isn't that impressive. Looks like an upscaled dvd. How do I get better picture quality? My laptop does have an HDMI port but I can't find any Blu Ray drives that have HDMI.

The HDMI port on your laptop, my friend, is an OUT port, which means that it won't receive any signals to it from an outside source.

The 'problem' with you viewing the Blu-ray discs using your external Blu-ray drive is that the connection is USB 2.0, which isn't really fast enough for the data throughput required, and we have absolutely no idea which video/graphics chip your laptop has soldered to its motherboard.  Most are very limited in their abillities.
