Why is Yahoo Answers still awarding points if they are shutting down?

Because the system does not know day to day.  

Points can still be Given out Before the Shut down Begins 

It would be an automated system. But they stopped deducting points for asking questions some time ago.

I think there's just some automated system that gives and deducts points. It would be a useless hassle to disable it because other than a lack of points, nothing will change.

They'd have to pay someone to change the programming.  Why should they?

who cares? It's not like a real person is doing it.
