  • What are good free posting sites?

I am trying to sell a 1976 Cadalac Eldorado. I have it on antique cars.com and Oodle but have not had many hits. Are there any other free sites to post the car on?

  • Resolving questions in dog section?

How many people asking questions actually go back and pick a best answer. Or do you prefer to let it go to a vote and why?

  • Have you ever owned a Lab?

How old is your lab or how long did they live. My girl Alexis is 5 years old now and in good health. She has minor issues like a cruciate ligament that gives her problems from time to time and her vision is impaired. But as far as anything that would affect her life span there is nothing. I am planning on her living for a very long time so I'm hoping for lots of story's of 15 year +++ labs.

Yes I know she is a little overweight and not a perfect specimen but she is mine and I love her so none of that matters to me.

  • Any one have experience with Azodyl?

My cat has been in chronic renal failure for about 3 years. He is well maintained on diet restrictions and has not even need subcutaneous fluids therapy. His last blood work indicated his BUN and Creatinine had crept up just a little. One of the doctors I work for suggested I check into Azodyl a pro-biotic that is supposed to eliminate some of the renal toxins. There is a wide variety of opinion about the product and I just wondered if anyone on Y/A has had experience using it?

  • Other Vet Techs...Have you noticed?

Have you noticed that the patients you are seeing with parvo are different this year than previous years? Ours seem to be much more ill this year and recovery is much longer. Patients have been staying an average of 5 to 7 days when in previous years they seem to go home in 2 to 4 days. We have also noticed an increase in older dogs and they are fairing worse than usual even with fairly decent wbc's. Just wondered if that is your experience this year. Do you have any off label so to speak treatments your hospital swears by that seems to expedite recovery other than the standard fluids/medications therapy's. One of the techs I work with uses yogurt and seems to work well. What other idea's do you have?

  • Does every one know dogs get urinary blockages like cats do?

We had a client come in with a little male dog they thought was constipated because he was straining to go to the bathroom. We took a radiograph and discovered the dogs bladder was HUGE. By the time we saw the dog it was septic and almost died. It is recovering nicely today but a few hours longer and it could have been a different outcome. I just wondered how many people out there were unaware that dogs can have urinary blockages like cats do?

  • What would get chapstick out of cloths?

I washed a load of cloths with a chapstick in the pocket of one of the shirts. When it made it to the dryer it melted all over the cloths. Now there are what looks like grease spots all over every thing. I have re washed everything but the spots remain. I don't want to have to spot clean every spot. What can I put in the whole load that might get the spots out?

  • License for dog breeders?

You have to have a license to paint houses or build fences don't you think there should be some minimum criteria a breeder should meet before being able to breed dogs? Don't you think that the responsible breeders would advocate a licensing procedure to keep the BYB out of the picture? Just wondered if it would do any good trying to keep the uneducated irresponsible breeders to a minimum?

Frustrated vet tech. I get to see all the mistakes back yard breeders make. And the puppys that suffer because of them.

  • Would you wear "vintage" mink?

Just wondered if anyone would wear mink if it came from an antique store or thrift store. I don't advocate new cloths made out of animal pelts but it seems a waste to dispose of vintage furs. I really don't want someone throwing paint on me if I wear one out to dinner.

  • Any one have a pet that contracted West Nile Virus?

Any one have a pet that contracted West Nile Virus?

3 Years ago our yellow lab began to loose her sight. We thought it was SARD and made an appointment with an ophthalmologist. While waiting for the appointment date she became very ill and we almost lost her. We ran numerous tests and did radiographs with no answer. Then not really expecting it to be positive we ran a West Nile test. It came back positive with a titer of 1/280. She did recover but due to the encephalitis she is vision impaired but very happy and still playfull.

Just wondered if anyone else has had a pet that contracted West Nile? The literature says dogs and cats don't get ill from the disease but I beg to differ.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
