  • Why won't my teeth fit together anymore?

Last week I burnt the roof of my mouth on some pizza. Next morning I noticed my teeth didn't fit together correctly. It's been over a week now and they still don't fit right.

Every morning they seem to fit differently. Some mornings my left molars touch and this morning my front left teeth touch.

If I eat something then after awhile the teeth seem to fit together but after an hour or so it's back to being out of alignment.

Does anyone know what is going on and what I can do about it?

No, I don't have a dentist or dental insurance.

Also, my right jaw muscle hurts when I bite down or open my mouth wide.

    Thanks

  • If you've read the book 1632 by Eric Flint: what would be your shopping list if you knew before hand that it was going to happen?

1632 is a science fiction novel (part of a series) which posits what would happen if the town of Grantville, West Virginia and a 3 mile radius of land was transported back to 1632 in the middle of Germany during the 30 Years War.

All they had were their guns, a coal powered electric plant, a closed coal mine, and their knowledge of the world and other normal possessions.

They had to not only survive but hopefully bring their values (American) with them while defending themselves against massive armies around them and eventually the countries of the world (monarchies) who wanted to destroy democracy and the Republic values they held.

So, what would you bring? Base your answers on how much money you think you could come up with to buy the stuff.

  • How can women only make 77% of what a man makes, and millions don't work at all but still women control 70% of global spending?

While I'm at it, could someone tell me how women are a minority? If they are a majority of the population, own over half the wealth, and control 70% of global spending then how are they minority?

  • Who is the "property" in these two stories?

A farmer buys a horse. The horse pulls a plow in the hot sun all day and all the prosperity it generates flows freely to the farmer.

At night the farmer provides a clean place for the horse, food, tends to it when it's sick, and may even give affection.

    Which one is the property?

A woman marries a man. The man works all day in the hot sun and the prosperity it generates flows freely to the wife.

At night the wife provides a clean place for the husband, food, tends to him when he's sick, and may even give affection.

    Which one is the property?

If you picked the horse as property then you must pick the husband as property because their situations are the same.

If you picked the woman as property then you must pick the farmer as property of the horse.

  • advice on buying a Mercedes E350?

I saw a 2007, Mercedes E350 for sale for about 14.5k. It has 101832 miles and looks real clean.

I'm wondering what kind of troubles I might experience with this vehicle?

What is the upkeep on a car like this?

Are repairs more expensive than other makes?

Can I expect another 100k out of this car?

Any advice or wisdom will be appreciated.

I'm enamored by the car so my judgement is impaired.

  • Should I get the media package on a new Mini Cooper?

So I'm going to buy a Mini Cooper and I'm looking at the media package. I'm wondering if it is really worth it.

Here is my dilemma. I will probably have this car for 20 years because I only drive maybe 5k miles a year. In fact, I will probably still ride my bicycle to work every day.

So, with technology changing so rapidly is it really wise to spend extra money on a tech upgrade that will be obsolete in a few years? Will we even be using usb ports in 5 years?

It's 750 bucks extra. A little less if I get the "loaded" version which combines the media package and the premium package.

  • My goldfish in my water barrels died. What happened?

I recently purchased 12 feeder fish at Feeder Supply. They gave me 16 and I spread them out evenly between 3 rain barrels that are connected at the top by an overflow hose.

Each barrel was full of water and had been that way for a few weeks. They also has a lot of mosquito larvae.

They seemed okay for a couple days and then they started to die.

They died the fastest in the barrels farthest from then downspout. In fact, the barrel at the downspout has no deaths until all but one had died in each of the other two barrels had died.

I gave them a pinch of food each day which they ignored. They seemed to swim at all levels.

After a couple days I put an airstone in and aerated the water (starting with the barrel farthest from the downspout).

Could the aerator have stirred up sediment from the bottom that changed the PH or something?

I kept goldfish last year and the first time I tried they all died but I didn't feed them. The second installation almost 12 of 14 lived until Fall.

    Any ideas?

  • I've got a ceazy cattle and goat business idea.?

My plan is to buy a few steers and goats or maybe sheep and use them to graze fenced in lots in the city.

In my city they make booze and they store the barrels in warehouses. The warehouses are in fenced in lots that have a lot of grass ground them. Some are several acres or more.

There's not a lot of traffic through these lots so the animals shouldn't bother anyone.

The whiskey maker gets his grass trimmed and trees managed for free. i get to fatten up some animals right in town and then sell them to Halal butcher or the local slaughterhouses.

My costs are transportation, vet, water barrels to catch water from warehouse drains, and GPS tracking implants so I can keep track of my stock if they escape or are stolen, and my time to check up on them.

My question is what am I missing here? I've never actually raised cattle so there is a lot I don't know.

  • I'm 43 and wet the bed. What the heck?

I'm 43 and last night I wet the bed. I was having a dream where I went to the bathroom. I peed in a toilet and got some on my leg so I decided to rinse it off in the shower. I got my shirt wet accidentally while in the shower and then I woke up.

I was laying on my stomach, I got my underwear and shirt wet and I also had my sheet and down comforter underneath me and they got a lot of the pee.

I made a spot the size of a dinner plate on the mattress.

In my life, even as a boy I never peed the bed. There really is no history of it at all.

I had woken up at about 10pm (I went to bed at around 7) and got up to pee. I then peed the bed about midnight.

I've had dreams where I peed in my dreams but I woke up before peeing the bed. I was actually conscious of what my body was doing and I woke up with a start before I actually wet myself. But this time I just peed.

I don't think it had to do with a full bladder since I peed 2 hours before and I didn't have that much pee in the bed.

I'm a truck driver and used to holding my bladder for long periods.

I took two melatonin before bed because I work early and have to go to bed before dark.

At 3am when I woke up I was not tired or groggy.

Is this a one time thing or am I going to need to see a doctor?

  • How do I get my life together?

I'm 43 and wondering how I can get my life together.

I've never wanted to be anything. I have had no ambition other than wanting to be a father and that is not available to me.

Women aren't interested in me and it's far too painful and humiliating for me to jump through hoops trying to gain their interest.

I have a house and job and "stuff" but none of that has meaning.

I was homeless in my 20's and that was the most awesome time in my life even though I didn't have the wisdom to know it then.

If I'm not going to have kids then it really doesn't matter if I die today or 30 years from now. Mostly I'm just sitting here feeling sorry for myself.

They say, "live your dreams" and I did that and got 20k in student loan debt and no "career." Instead I drive a truck.

There is still nothing I want to do, but if I did want something experience has taught me again and again and again that I will fail at it and that failure will make me worse off than when I started.

The only thing I have consistently wanted to be in my life is "dead," and I'm too lazy even for that.

I don't have crippling depression. I don't use drugs or drink. I exercise regularly.

I do not have close friends or make friends or relationship easily.

I am very aware of how pathetic I am. That awareness makes me want to be more pathetic.

  • I need fashion advice for a 43 year old working man.?

I drive a truck but I also interact with people throughout the day in a professional setting. I would like to change my appearance to reflect my age and experience and also be trendy but functional. Something that isn't pretentious but still demonstrates that I have status and style.

So my question is where should I shop for my clothing? I really haven't thought much about fashion over the years and I think that many places cater to a certain age group (well below my age).

    Any suggestions?

  • With such a high failure rate why aren't birth control companies being sued out of business?

With so many women getting pregnant but claiming to be using birth control, why aren't contraceptive companies being sued?

The annual pregnancy rate of women using the pill is .3%.

The annual pregnancy rate of women who use condoms is 2%.

If couples use both methods together then the chance of getting pregnant is 6 in 10,000 every year (.6 per 1000).

If we just apply the .3% then that means that women using the pill should have 3 pregnancies for every 1,000 women. This does not mean births since women can still miscarry and abort. This is just fertilizing an egg and implanting it into the womb long enough for her to notice she's pregnant.

The current fertility rate in the US is 63.2 for every 1000 women between the ages of 15 and 44. This number reflects the number of actual births.

Also, about 22% of all pregnancies are aborted so then the pregnancy rate is at least 77.1 per 1000 women between the ages of 15 and 44. This number is absolutely higher because many women miscarry or have still births which are not accounted for in other statistics here.

31 per 1000 is the unplanned birth rate.

At least 77.1 per 1000 become pregnant.

    63.2 born.

    13.9 aborted.

31 unplanned--but 44.9 is the actual "unwanted" pregnancy rate.

3 that should be failures of birth control.

Now in my mind if I don't want to do something I take steps to see that doesn't happen. For instance, I can't carry a revolver into a crowd of people, put one bullet in the cylinder, spin the cylinder, extend my arm out in the general direction of a group of people, look away, pull the trigger, and then fire the gun, hit someone, and then say, "It was an accident."

I am going to be charged with a crime for that.

So, for women to say, "I didn't intend to get pregnant," they would have had to take steps to not get pregnant like not having sex, faithfully using the pill, condoms, or both. And if women are doing this then why aren't they suing the crap out of the manufacturers of birth control?

I don't believe you can say a pregnancy is "unintended" or "unplanned" if you have sex with someone without taking steps to prevent pregnancy. If I shoot my gun into a crowd of people I can't say I didn't intend to hit anyone. So then, we must believe that all these women are using birth control right? Therefore, where are the lawsuits?

  • Do you think using Adblock Plus is unethical?

I use it and I love it. I haven't seen an ad on the Internet since I got the thing. Occasional there is something integrated into the website that you can't avoid but it is usually innocuous and doesn't eat cpu resources.

However, the prevailing attitude by website owners is that I'm stealing from them. That because I haven't paid the price they want (watching ads) then I'm denying them revenue.

I reject this argument for the simple reason that I am not a conspicuous consumer. I don't buy a bunch of crap on the Internet, ads or no.

I think my reasons for using Adblock Plus are more valid than theirs.

    1. My computer resources are limited. I came to find information about the things I want and not to be "sold" crap I don't want. Also, I like having 10 tabs open without a cpu hit.

    2. I'm not materialist therefore I wouldn't be purchasing their crap anyway.

    3. Probably my most serious gripe is that websites feel no fiduciary duty towards me. They will display all manner of unethical advertising to me. Magic berries, fad diets, phony supplements, dating secrets, and on and on. They don't give a @#$% about me or you. They will allow anyone to sell anything on their site.

    4. Then there are the intrusive ads. They pop up, slide in, overlay, start playing randomly and at full volume. Why exactly does ruining my Internet experience fit some prominently into their business model? Seems you would want to encourage people to come back rather than drive them away?

    5. I don't trust direct marketing. I wouldn't give these people my credit card info anyway. So trying to advertise to me is a waste of time. If I want to buy something I find the original site on my own and verify it. I don't let someone direct me to their fake site and then get all my info. I'm not stupid (I try not to be anyway--so far so good).

Finally, I reject the myth that Adblock hurts websites or that I owe them money. I've noticed on OKCupid that they have as part of their website a section that basically shames me for using Adblock Plus. They suggest that I owe them money and should donate a one time fee of 5 dollars.

    Really?

What about the page turns that my profile generates? How much are you making from that? How many thousands of women will scroll through looking at guys who fit my descriptions? Even if they aren't interested in me those page turns increase your ad revenue.

And can advertisers really tell how many users are using Adblock?

Finally, it is the websites who created this problem in the first place with obnoxious ads, invasive, loud, scamming, interference into people's lives. We signed on to your website to read a story someone wrote not to learn some secret from a single mom in "your town here."

If Walmart was a hangout for bandits who paid Walmart for the right to be there do you really think people would want to go to Walmart? Those who did might want to bring along some security.

Websites telling people not to use Adblock would be like Walmart telling customers not to protect themselves from the bandits because it hurts Walmart's bottom line.

To me, that is where the unethical behavior lies.

  • How can you fall in love with someone while simultaneously being critical about their values and behavior?

I'd like to be in love and to get married some day but right now every woman I meet turns out to be bad news. When I'm really into her it's hard to be critical about her values and if I'm questioning her values it's hard for us to feel chemistry and affection towards each other.

How can I determine if a woman is prone to divorce, violence, infidelity, financial disaster, or is a man hating feminist while still fostering attraction, trust, and affection between us? How do I make a good determination without putting up barriers between us?

Already, selecting to weed out these traits reduces the potential women to a small number (usually married and therefore off limits).

  • Advice on getting a smartphone without a data plan?

I think I've got this figured out but I'd thought I'd run it by other people first.

I want a smartphone. I may use it for the Internet but only from a wireless router in my home or at a public wifi place. I don't need the Internet bad enough to pay AT&T's minimum of 20 bucks a month.

I don't text. I don't sent text pictures. My monthly cell usage on average has been about 330 minutes a month for the last year. I've used 89 minutes so far this month.

What I'd like to do is buy an unlocked Sony Xperia TL (because I like the camera and video and other features) and then buy SIM card from H2O wireless for about 10$ a month. That gives me 200 minutes but new calls are only 5 cents a minute so if I go over I'm not getting jammed. So for 20$ a month (16$ less than I pay now for 1,000 minutes of which I have about 8000 unused rollover minutes) I can get the same phone usage for less money and no new data plan.

What do you think? Is there something I'm forgetting?

  • Mouse lag during gameplay?

When I play games on my computer I get mouse sluggishness. I first noticed it during Skyrim but I've played other games and it happens there as well. Even games like Civilization V has some mouse lag and that's not a graphics intensive game.

I considered it might be because I use a Toshiba REGZA LCD TV as my monitor which only works with a 1360 X 768 resolution but I tried it with my old monitor and I had the same problem. I don't have that old monitor anymore to experiment with.

I have no problems when surfing the Net but once I start a game I get that little delay when moving the mouse.

I bought my computer specifically for Skyrim and had it made just after the game came out in 2011. I have always played with the mouse lag thinking that it was a game problem and eventually just ignored it but now I realize I don't even want to play games anymore because I can't be competitive.

My processor is an Intel Core i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz 3.20GHz

    8 GB RAM

    64 bit operating system

    Windows 7

    Thanks in advance.
