  • Why did Obama pay a lower tax rate than his secretary?

President Obama has been making a big political push for the “Buffett Rule,” which would require millionaires to pay a minimum of 30% of their income in taxes. To illustrate the point, the president has pointed out that billionaire investor Warren Buffett pays a lower tax rate than does his secretary.

    Hmmm, so did Obama. Hypocritical?

  • Is this at least some justice in the Trayvon Martin case?

NBC News has fired a producer for editing a recording of George Zimmerman’s call to police the night he shot Trayvon Martin, a person with direct knowledge of the matter said Saturday. The producer’s dismissal followed an internal investigation that led to NBC apologizing for having aired the misleading audio.

NBC’s "Today" show first aired the edited version of Zimmerman’s call on March 27. The recording viewers heard was trimmed to suggest that Zimmerman volunteered to police, with no prompting, that Martin was black: "This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black."

But the portion of the tape that was deleted had the 911 dispatcher asking Zimmerman if the person who had raised his suspicion was "black, white or Hispanic," to which Zimmerman responded, "He looks black."

So at least one person at NBC has had to answer for their irresponsible presentation of evidence and race baiting.. How many more will be called out for their lynch mob behavior and jumping to conclusions without knowing the facts? After all, like Obama said, “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,” Hmm, Is the president suggesting that if it had been a white who had been shot, that would be OK because it didn’t look like him? When things go wrong to an American, it is sad for all Americans. Trying to turn it into a racial issue is fundamentally wrong. If it is not wrong, then let's just do what the media, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Congressman Bobby Rush of Illinois, Representative Corrine Brown and many others have done. Convict Zimmerman without knowing the facts, or having an investigation, or a trial and let's just form a mob and the lynch him right now!

  • I am almost afraid to post this question...What if?

Bear with me on this. The USS Enterprise, the famous "Big E" is scheduled to be decommissioned this year. It has 8 nuclear reactors on board that would require special handling and dismantling. This job is estimated to last up to eight years. The preferred method, also called “cradle to grave,” is estimated to cost between $300 million to $500 million and require 850,000 man-days of work. Though the work for this alternative is intensive, PSNS ( Puget Sound Naval Shipyard ) does not anticipate more hires as a result.

I read today that the Enterprise set sail on her final voyage. The Enterprise is heading to the Middle East on its seven-month deployment, where it will be on standby in case of conflict with Iran or piracy threats off Somalia, among other things. The ship has experience with both scenarios, participating in a retaliatory strike against Iran for mining the Arabian Gulf in 1988 and responding last year to the hijacking of a sailing vessel by Somali pirates, during which all four Americans on board were shot and killed.

What if, and bear with me here, The Enterprise is attacked and sunk off the coast of Iran, presumably by the Iranians, or in a false flag operation that is made to look like the Iranians attacked and sunk the Enterprise. Thus creating a reason to retaliate against Iran and attack the nuclear sites that many have been calling for in the government. Then the problem and cost of the dismantling would be at the bottom of the Persian Gulf and the US could justify attacking Iran and destroying the nuclear reactor sites. I am just saying, I know this is a big what if, but if something happens to the Big E, remember this post. Your thoughts on the possibility of this scenario playing out? I hope it doesn't , but what if it does?

  • Should Obama apologize again?

Two members of the U.S. military were shot dead on Saturday inside the heavily barricaded Interior Ministry in the center of the Afghan capital, Afghan security sources said, as anti-Western protests raged for a fifth day across the country. Maybe they didn't get that memo that our Apologizer-in-Chief has already said he was sorry 5 days ago when 2 other American soldiers were killed by an Afghan soldier. Maybe he should go over there and personally apologize to everyone killing our troops.

  • Has there ever been a greater family defending the American ideals than the Adams'?

John Adams and John Quincy Adams were both lawyers and both rose to the Presidency of the US. More notably to my point of protecting the ideals that America stands for, they both defended controversial cases. John Adams defended the British soldiers that were charged in the infamous Boston Massacre and fought and won their acquittal. Likewise John Quincy Adams defended the slaves of the Amistad in front of the Supreme Court and won their freedom. Both of these were unpopular positions to take at the time. Can you think of another American family that has contributed so much to the service and preservation of our Constitution?

  • How retarded do you have to be?

To blame the Tea Party for the downgrade in the US credit? Moody's, Goldman Sachs and Standard and Poor's all said a 4 million dollar minimum cut in the debt was required to avoid the downgrade. The Tea party stood fast and passed Cut, Cap and Balance in the House. It was defeated over and over in the Democratically controlled Senate and Obama said he would veto it. Now that the Democrat deal that actually increases the debt and kicks the can past the 2012 elections has been passed and the debt ceiling raised, they are blaming the Tea Party for the downgrade. Do they really think your IQ is 50 or do liberals believe anything they are told by their leaders? Are they really that misinformed or just that ideologically invested to be deal with reality?

  • Who will be seen as the better or worse President 10 years from now? Carter of Obama.?

Carter has justifiably been maligned for his ineptitude while in office for 4 years. Obama has been ineffectual on all levels and a complete failure at this point. If Obama loses in 2012, and it looks like he may, who will be looked at as the worst of the two,10 years from now?

  • Why Do You Think Bill Clinton Wants To Regulate Speech On The Internet?

Clinton is not happy with what he claims is the “misinformation” on the Internet and he wants the force of government to stop it all. Politico is reporting that Clinton makes the proposal in an upcoming CNBC interview saying, “It would be a legitimate thing to do.”

How it is even possible to have an “independent federal agency,” is anyone’s guess. After all, the second such an agency came into being it would be controlled by the political body of Congress or a presidential administration. There is no way such an agency could ever be “independent.” In fact, even the appearance of impropriety is enough to discredit such an effort. But isn’t that the rub? Whose “facts” will be presented? Will those facts be administered under the thumb of a fact-master like Clinton, Mr. “I did not have sex with that woman, Monica,” himself?

This whole idea, however, is quite normal for liberals. Their fascist desire to shut people down, to use the mechanism of government to quash ideas liberals are not fond of, is a core belief motivating liberal thinking. What do you think about having the right to makes comments, like these on Y Answers being regulated and changed?

  • What Do You Think Of These Quotes By Jefferson On Debt?

"There [is a measure] which if not taken we are undone...[It is] to cease borrowing money and to pay off the national debt. If this cannot be done without dismissing the army and putting the ships out of commission, haul them up high and dry and reduce the army to the lowest point at which it was ever established. There does not exist an engine so corruptive of the government and so demoralizing of the nation as a public debt. It will bring on us more ruin at home than all the enemies from abroad against whom this army and navy are to protect us." --Thomas Jefferson to Nathaniel Macon, 1821. (*) FE 10:193

"I consider the fortunes of our republic as depending in an eminent degree on the extinguishment of the public debt before we engage in any war; because that done, we shall have revenue enough to improve our country in peace and defend it in war without recurring either to new taxes or loans. But if the debt should once more be swelled to a formidable size, its entire discharge will be despaired of, and we shall be committed to the English career of debt, corruption and rottenness, closing with revolution. The discharge of public debt, therefore, is vital to the destinies of our government." --Thomas Jefferson to Albert Gallatin, 1809. FE 9:264

"I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our Constitution. I would be willing to depend on that alone for the reduction of the administration of our government; I mean an additional article taking from the Federal Government the power of borrowing. I now deny their power of making paper money or anything else a legal tender. I know that to pay all proper expenses within the year would, in case of war, be hard on us. But not so hard as ten wars instead of one. For wars could be reduced in that proportion; besides that the State governments would be free to lend their credit in borrowing quotas." --Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1798. ME 10:64

"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." --Thomas Jefferson to A. L. C. Destutt de Tracy, 1820. FE 10:175

"The conclusion then, is, that neither the representatives of a nation, nor the whole nation itself assembled, can validly engage debts beyond what they may pay in their own time." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1789. ME 7:457, Papers 15:398n

"Then I say, the earth belongs to each of these generations during its course, fully and in its own right. The second generation receives it clear of the debts and incumbrances of the first, the third of the second, and so on. For if the first could charge it with a debt, then the earth would belong to the dead and not to the living generation. Then, no generation can contract debts greater than may be paid during the course of its own existence." --Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1789. ME 7:455, Papers 15:393

That I cracked a rib laughing so hard when he said we should live within our means tonight at his press conference. After all, Obama added more debt than all the President's before him from Washington to Reagan in his first 19 months(see link).

  • What do you think bothers liberals the most about Fox News?

Is it because Fox dominates the rating to an absurd rate? Just how dominant is Fox News? Consider this: its morning show, "Fox & Friends," draws more total viewers on average than the top-rated NON-Fox show in cable news, MSNBC's "Countdown", which comes in at number 14. The top 13 are all on Fox. Or is it because the Fox has replaced all the other major networks ( ABC, NBC,CBS,CNN) and the liberal print media, as the source that a vast majority of Americans tune to to get their news? By the way, the link is from the Huffington Post
