  • trigonometry help true and false questions?

    The equation 2sin x - 1 = 0 has 2 solutions in the range between 0 and 360 degrees. The solutions are 30 degrees and 150 degrees.

    The equation 2sin x cos x + cos x = 0 has four solutions found between 0 and 360 degrees. The solutions are 90 degrees, 270 degrees, 30 degrees and 150 degrees.

    The equation cos2x - cos x - 2 = 0 has one solution in the range from 0 to 360 degrees. This solution is x = 180 degrees.

When solving the equation 3 tan3x = tan x, it is permissible to divide both sides of the equation by tan x and still find all of the possible solutions for the original equation.

The solutions to the equation cos(3x) = 1/2 over the range of 0 to 360 degrees are 20 degrees, 100 degrees, 140 degrees, 220 degrees, 260 degrees, and 340 degrees.

  • Trigonometry true or false questions?

    cos 2 x + sin 2 x = 1 for any angle x.

    cos 2 x - sin 2 x = 1 for all angles x.

    1 + tan 2 x = sec 2 x is a Pythagorean Identity.

    cot 2 x + 1 = csc 2 x is a Pythagorean Identity.

The value of the secant function can be found by computing sec x = cos -1 x. (ie we can use the inverse trig function arccos to compute the value of the secant function).

  • Help with true/false trigonometry questions!!!?

Two angles are complementary if their sum is 90 degrees.

Two possible angles that satisfy cos t = 0.8746 are 29.0023 degrees and 330.9977 degrees (angle answers are rounded to four decimal places).

Two angles which sastisfy sin t = 0.95 are t = 1.2532 and t = 5.0299 (hint: be sure you are set in radian mode on your calculator!)

The notation arcsin x is equivalent to the notation sin-1x.

The inverse trigonometric function sin-1t is equivalent to 1/sin t .

  • Having some trouble with trig homework. Can you help me out? True or false questions?

The basic sine curve y=sin(x) and the basic cosine curve y = cos(x) both have an amplitude of 1 and and period of 2pi.

The Period of the curve represented by y = 3sin(2x) is 2.

The Amplitude of the curve represented by y = 5 cos (2x-1) is 5.

    The curves y = 2cos(5x) and y = -2sin(3x) both have an Amplitude of 2.

The Phase Shift for the curve given by y = 3sin(2x-4) is 2 units. (Hint: Be sure to factor the expression (2x-4) as a first step and then determine the phase shift!)

    thanks!

  • Can anyone help with Intro Java homework?

    This is the demand:

Write a program that asks the user for a positive integer no greater than 15. 'Hie program

should then display a square on the screen using the character 'X*. The number entered by

the user will be the length of each side of the square. For example, if the user enters 5, the

    program should display the following:

    xxxxx

    xxxxx

    xxxxx

    xxxxx

    xxxxx

If the user enters 8, the program should display the following:

    xxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxx

  • Having trouble with trigonometry homework. Only got these 5 last ones. Help?

If (4,3) is a point on the terminal side of an angle t in standard position, then cos t = 4/5.

If (4, -4) is a point on the terminal side of an angle t in standard position, then tan t = 1.

A circle centered at the origin and passing through the point (2,3) has a radius of 13 units.

If sin t > 0 and cos t < 0, then angle t lies in quadrant II. (Hint: Use the unit circle to justify your answer.)

    If cos t > 0 and tan t < 0, then angle t lies in quadrant IV.

  • To determine the value of the tangent function from the unit circle, divide the x-coordinate by the y-coordinate?

I'm thinking too hard about this question whether my teacher overlooked this or not. But shouldn't it be divide the y coor by the x coor? or does it matter. True or false question.

  • My dog WILL NOT stop crying/barking early in the morning. Please help.?

I put my one year old puppy in the cage on the first floor at around 10 or 11 at night. She goes in the cage no problem even gets comfy. But then we go to sleep on the second floor and around 6:30 in the morning she's crying and barking until someone goes to let her out. I don't let her out until she stops crying to teach her but that still hasn't been put in her mind that if she stops crying then she'll get out. I know it's not because she's hungry or because she has to go to the bathroom. She's just awake and wants to be let out. I'm at a loss here. I don't know what to do. I give her treats while she's in the cage not crying so she knows good things come from not crying. Don't get me wrong she's a really smart dog. She learns things in a couple of hours. (like tricks). Please help!!!

  • Bought a car from a small dealer. They didnt tell me didn't have airbags. Can I sue?

Basically I bought the car. There was no discussion on if airbags were in there or not. I recently crashed it and nothing came out which is why I'm asking. I knew the car was salvaged. Also something they didnt tell me. I had to learn from a mechanic not a salesman. I have carfax and see it was a total loss car. Do I have grounds to sue?

  • 9 month old dog has bad separation anxiety. How can I fix it?

I have a 9 month old pitbull/border collie. She came from a family with 4 other dogs to my house who just is a family of 4. Parents me and younger brother. The major problem is that I can't leave her in her cage without her crying, whining, barking, and getting destructive with whatever is in the cage. Today I left her in her cage because I went out to a party and no one was home. I can't trust her alone out of the cage. I put her in there and I can monitor my home with my phone and all you can hear is her crying and barking. Also, at night, I put her to bed in her cage and she is usually fine. But in the morning, she won't stop barking or whining. Sometimes it's at 6 sometime it's at 8. But it's always very early. I put her to sleep around 12 pm every day. I play with her and take her out for a walk so she's tired enough to be in the cage. I don't know how to fix it. I'm trying to make her more independent but I'm having no luck. Please help. I don't know what to do. I'm losing so much sleep because of it.
