3 1/2 years old 48,000 miles, out of warranty. I smelled then saw smoke coming from in between the driver and front passenger seat, where the transmission, seat heater switches, and cup holders are. From there, my 4runner had multiple electrical problems and ended up with a dead battery and was towed to the Toyota dealership. The dealership says they don t know the exact reason for this to happen but say they suspect I spilled coffee or liquid which shorted everything out. I don t buy this, because while over time there may have been some spillage of water or coffee in the area, there could not have been that much to have caused this amount of damage, no way. My insurance company is saying they won t cover this because Toyota can not figure out why this happened. Other factors are the same day I started to smell the smoke (the day before it shut off) I brought it to an autobody shop, so they could fix a cover that was dangling to protect the undercarriage. Also this is in Boston where we have obviously had record snow. Any insight would help. Thanks!

I am trying to access a clients ftp site to view pdf files. I have had different error messages and have never been able to open up the PDFs. I have gotten as far as being able to open the folders in my windows explorer and seeing the PDFs I need to open. When I click on them they never open however. But sometimes when I click on the ftp site link it will just go to an error message that says windows can not access this folder. I use Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.

My wife and I are looking for a city in Europe to spend the week after Christmas in. This means we will be there over New Years. Weather is not really a factor, just want to spend time in a city that wont be closed down over this time period. Looking for, good restaurants, lively atmosphere, fun nightlife, and an overall classic European City. Places we have thought of are

Barcelona

Madrid

Prague

Venice

Munich

(Im sure Paris and London are great too, but those seem obvious)

Has anyone spent the week after christmas in any of these cities, or any other suggestions?

I plan on spending a few days in Munich the week after christmas. I would like to spend a few days (preferably over New Years) at one of the ski villages in Europe. I was thinking of either Zermatt, Chamonix, or Kitzbuhel. Has anyone ever been? Any suggestions on hotels? I am a pretty good skier but my wife is a beginner. We are looking for an area that is both lively and scenic. Also suggestions on where to fly into and how to get to or from Munich. Thanks!

I have an added bathroom which is set above an unheated crawl space. The "ceiling" of the crawl space has all the pipes running through it (hot, cold, waste). These pipes had been insulated with your standard pink panther blanket insulation but the pipes would freeze anyway. I am thinking of putting some sort of heater in the space to keep the pipes above the freezing tempertaure. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of heater I could use, or another method to keep these pipes from freezing? Right now I have electric baseboard heating the bathroom and a constant drip on both the hot and cold water lines, which is obviously a temporary solution.

I just signed a car lease less than 24 hours ago, and I regret the decision. I have not picked up the car yet from the dealership. Do I have any legal right to get out of this lease within 24 hours?

The fuse connector on the positive side of the battery had blown out, which I replaced, now the only thing that does not work in my car is the power to the radio/clock/cd player.

My filter was working great until yesterday when I finally went into the pool and manually vacumed a lot of leaves.

Or does the GIA support members of the Independent Jewelers Organization? I am working with a member of the IJO and didn't know if they could provide me with a GIA certificate on their diamonds or if that was contradictory. I am not familiar with the industry.

I have an overhead light fixture in my bathroom that has a fan installed with it. The light wasn't turning on one day so I changed the light bulb to a brand new one, which did not work. I checked the breakers which were all on. The fan will go on but the light wont... any suggestions on how to fix this? If it helps...even though the fan and light bulb are in the same fixture they have seperate on/off switches.
