Electric window issue 2 Series Gran Tourer 218i?
The electric windows and mirror adjuster have stopped working completely although all windows (apart from drivers side) can be operated from their own respective door. There is no clicking sound when I press it down and the window lock also doesn’t respond.
Any help or suggestions or diagnosis would be appreciated.
1 Answer2 weeks agoWhat are the actual benefits of using hydrogen as a fuel source?
So many organizations and individuals tout hydrogen fuel as some carbon-free energy panacea, since it offers a method of energy storage without any direct emissions. However, basically everything I've read on the topic explains that producing hydrogen to use as fuel requires high amounts of energy in the first place, which almost always comes from fossil fuels. Due to the laws of thermodynamics, the amount of energy used to create hydrogen will always be less than the amount yielded by the hydrogen as fuel (to my understanding, at least).
If producing hydrogen requires high amounts of (usually polluting) energy, and the energy resulted from the hydrogen is lower than the energy needed, what is the point of using hydrogen at all? Wouldn't it be more efficient to just use the energy generated from the initial energy source, since there would be less energy loss from using it directly than there is from producing hydrogen? Am I misunderstanding the point of hydrogen fuel?

6 Answers4 weeks agoWhy are environmentalists so positive about EVs? What gets burned to produce the charging stations energy? Could it be....uh...oil or gas?
And which city's dump heap will accept all those worn out car batteries once they've run out of charging capability, the way ANY battery does?

2 months agoIs it better on money to drive with less fuel rather than more fuel in a car?
Not with the gas light on but between quarter tank and half tank. Neil deGrasse Tyson said he experimented with this idea and said he saved on money. The reason why, he said, is because the less fuel you have, the lighter your vehicle weighs and thus the less fuel is required to move the car. And I know you shouldn’t drive with the gas light on because it could mess up your fuel pump. Couldn’t find the answer on google. Thanks.

3 Answers2 months agoHow many toxic materials does an average AEV battery system include, and in what quantities?
I've been curious about the tradeoffs between AEV and modern combustion engines. Since electricity requires something else generating energy, the pollution generating components just get relocated, for now, most likely. So I'm wondering if the batteries in AEVs are more or less or equally as toxic as other vehicles.
1 Answer3 months agoWhat do you think of electric vehicles?
I own a 2019 Ford truck, and tow a 10-ton travel trailer with it. I wonder if an electric vehicle can tow that weight?
The other thing is my truck is rather new, and I am still paying for it. How will the switch over to electric vehicles occur? Do you think it will be mandatory to have an electric vehicle?
It seems all of the auto makers are now making electric vehicles, and there are plans to put charging stations all over the U.S.
