Why are the Richmond Tigers playing like crap this year?

Wonder if people agree but having watched all 4 rounds they've played this year, the guys just seem to be rather clueless when they have possession, can't seem to kick to their teammates and the forward line is just generally terrible.

And Richo is way past it.

Richmond were overated before the beggining of the 2007 season because of their strong finish in 2006 (3 wins from last 4 matches) with a relatively young list which included NAB Rising Star nominees Andrew Raines, Dean Polo and Nathan Foley. Despite showing desperation for periods in the first 4 matches, their lack of depth and a true 'game breaker' have held them back. Without Nathan Brown, the Richmond midfield and forward line lack polish and yes, Matthew Richardson is slightly past his prime.

The biggest weakness in their list are the lack of a class midfielder (E.g. Judd, Goodwin, Cooney), lack of defensive muscle and a mediocre forward line. With the maturing of our young midfield department (Deledio, Tambling, Polo, Hyde, Howat and Oakley-Nicholls), Richmond could become a finals contender. As coach Terry Wallace constantly reminds us Tiger supporters, "be patient".

I've got agree with you. I had Richmond as a Top 8 contender this season, they certainly have the players and experience. I just don't know why Richmond is such a unpredictable side. Richo, you can not depend on him if your life hangs on the balance. He is finished, I'm sorry to say that to all those Richmond supporters, but Richmond has to delist him. Better off getting a young Full Forward and let him learn as he gets experience, as for Richo it's Goodbye.

Sadly there has been nothing for the supporters to cheer about at Punt road since really in the 1980s. Richo should have been traded 6 years ago for draft picks and they need a tough coach that has the balls to cut seasoned senior players if they dont perform and give the young guys a shot. They cant get much worse and we dont want to lose another Victorian club like the sadly missed Fitzroy. I think they should rebuild properly for 1 season and delist those not pulling their weight. Be brutal and be tigers, not pussys!

It's the losing culture they've got down there!! With 2 or 3 finals appearances in the last 20 odd years, the Tigers are just a bad club! Imagine if the kangaroos or Bulldogs had that kind of record - they would now cease to exist (see Fitzroy)

Most who watched the game today would agree that the tigers are on the right track we just need to get a win. If you look at Richmonds results against bulldogs sydney and eagles then compare them to the thrashings that we copped from those teams last year you can see that we are on the improve.

its because of one nut bag and that is terry Wallace he is spewing that he left the bulldogs and now he sees the bulldogs playing well and he is to worried about them than Richmond. also richo is no good he is too unfit and is a cry baby if they don't kick it to him he crys. nathan brown will never be the same, patrick bowden is hopless but lucky his brother can play. you have two players in the leadership group ho have no richmond background. get rid of wallace because you are just a second rate bulldogs out fit with wallace, royal, brown and bowden.

    well good q

    ask the coaching staff.

they seem to get in front and then buckle under the pressure

richo is not past it but is certainly lacking his normal spark...
