Well the Philippine health care service is like the one from the "glorious and god fearing" USA.

First you pay, than you get treated. If they see you have no insurance whatsoever, they'll just put you last i line or wait for a relative who'll carry your bill. If no one you know of can or wants to pay for you, you'll have to say goodbye to the wold.

Sounds cruel, but that's how it is

Source(s): I have a friend currently in the hospital. He needs about P3000 daily in medication. If he does not pay, they won't give it to him.

The fact is it is very difficult to find publicly available information on congressional appropriations to the DoH--which does not bode well.

A recent study by the UN estimated that almost $2 billion a year of government funds are lost to corruption. Just think of how many sick kids and elderly that money would have saved from death if the money was not wasted to fund some rich politician's car collection.

As the 2 gentlemen above me explain, whatever the government is spending is obviously not enough--not even in the ballpark.

The sad but true fact of reality here is the Government hospitals are in sad shape. Understaffed and underbudgeted.

If your poor you look for a rich relative or die from lack of medical care here.
