Long queues buying football tickets? Whats the longest you have ever had to wait?

OK, my team is playing football in Hong Kong at the end of the month and the tickets went on sale today... why why why when 2½ hours ago I was number 8 in the queue, am I only number 2 in the queue now? Does it really really take 8 hours to serve 6 customers?

What is the longest you have ever waited for football tickets? What was the game? Did you get through or give up?

I have to go through this all again later to get Liverpool tickets for the other game out in Hong Kong :-P

**wonders if it's worth it? :-P**

**wonders if phone will be answered before battery (landline cordless so cant charge it or it will hang up the connection) dies** :-P

OK OK... (slow typer, lol)

Nearly 3 hours now, although at least I am number one in the queue for now.

By the way.... An additional part to the question... if you have waited in queue this long, what did you do to kill the time...

also... if you have not got loud speaker on your p

Update:

I FORGOT TO MENTION that I was talking about TELEPHONE queues. (hence the loud speaker comment at the end, and asking what you would do whilst on hold...

Yes... I could certainly have gone to Portsmouth and got straight through the door. I have done that in the past.

And I work for the railway so get free travel and could indeed have been there and back by now...

Just to really take the mickey...

I WAS NUMBER ONE IN THE QUEUE FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES THEN IT SAID....

WAIT FOR IT.... :-P

FOLLOWED BY THE DIAL TONE.

Sorry for the caps, I'd have bolded that if I could...

but seriously?!?!?! Tiscali will love my 3 hours of business, but... hey ho....

Has that happened to you before?

I'll sort out best answer tonight, I'm going to get out of these walls before I go even Loopier :-P

Be a Chelsea fan. In the past the Box Office at Stamford Bridge was hopeless for supporters wanting tkts for big games.

The Longest Time I had to Q was from 7.30am till 3.30am the next day - often you would have to Q for 7 / 8 Hours at a time.

Now its seems to be first come first serve on the clubs website.

When queueing I would talk to the people by me about everything about the Club and ending up giving them my life stories and vice-versa.

The joys of being a football supporter !
