  • What is the origin of the expression "Rub down with a Sporting Life", please?

My colleague mentioned this expression, which I had not heard of before. I googled it, asked Google in many different ways.... origin, meaning etc etc, Googled it on its own... there are many references of it, many people who have used the term in their blog but absolutely no reference as to what it means.

If anyone can help, I would be very grateful, please!!! :-D

    Thankyou :-)

  • Pepe Jeans boots that I found in a store in Europe... where can I get them in the UK?

Hi! I found some beautiful ankle height boots made by Pepe Jeans in a mall in Romania (yes a real store not a knock off!!) and wanted them but they were 100€ and had a defect.... alas I was only there for a couple of days so could not go back, could not order them... and they would not give me a discount for the defect.

Does ANYONE know where I can get Pepe boots in the UK?? I wanted to get them online so I have them by my b'day on Thursday but that looks like it won't happen without YOUR help!!

They were purple, with a zip as opposed to laces or buckles... and I got the make and model....

pepe jeans BA-097e (with or without spaces not sure)" mid boot dk viola" was also written as the description.

Please please help me find a store, online is best or otherwise I can get to London, Portsmouth, Southampton or anywhere in the middle with no trouble in time to get these!!!!

  • Stick Man animation of C. Ronaldo: where did I see it and does it still exist, please.?

Hello!! I was discussing football with a colleague (nothing new there!!) and we got onto the subject of diving and Christiano (as well as others, this is NOT a troll/flame question, I need a serious answer, not abuse as to who is or isn't a good player etc)

    ... anyway....

I remembered seeing a stickman animation where one stickman kicks a dot/football and about 30 second later the stickman depicting Ronaldo falls over.

I know this exists and it made me laugh out loud... alas it was an attachment on a friend's email months, possibly even a year ago, so no-one can remember the source.

If anyone has seen this and knows where it is posted, please do let me know as we all need some light relief here and can laugh at the diving and have some fun naming other famous (football) divers :-) Thankyou :-)

Best answer will go to the 1st person who posts a sensible answer with a working link to the animation, unless someone can post that AND better ones! No YouTube please as blocked! :-)

  • I have been called 5 times tonight by an 07061 number-i know not 2 call back.. but how do you block these pls?

This is a question for UK answers please... i checked a site about some scams etc etc and saw that these numbers call you but only ring once or twice... but can find no information about how to stop the darned things calling...

I already use TPS... so that will not help me... one time I made sure I answered in time before they hung up and all I could hear was an outgoing ringing sound.... as though my phone was suddenly routed to them I of course hung up immediately.

This was my search results page http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&...

and I also looked at a thread at jamesmiller.com

    http://www.jamesmiller.com/mtmblog/2007/06/nasty-f...

However if anyone can help out in any other way, please do!!!

    Thankyou :-) :-)

  • Long queues buying football tickets? Whats the longest you have ever had to wait?

OK, my team is playing football in Hong Kong at the end of the month and the tickets went on sale today... why why why when 2½ hours ago I was number 8 in the queue, am I only number 2 in the queue now? Does it really really take 8 hours to serve 6 customers?

What is the longest you have ever waited for football tickets? What was the game? Did you get through or give up?

I have to go through this all again later to get Liverpool tickets for the other game out in Hong Kong :-P

**wonders if it's worth it? :-P**

**wonders if phone will be answered before battery (landline cordless so cant charge it or it will hang up the connection) dies** :-P

    OK OK... (slow typer, lol)

Nearly 3 hours now, although at least I am number one in the queue for now.

By the way.... An additional part to the question... if you have waited in queue this long, what did you do to kill the time...

also... if you have not got loud speaker on your p

  • Day trip to Singapore from Hong Kong possibility?

Hi! I shall be in Hong Kong in July for the football tournament, but I shall also be doing day trips... Macau for sure, China if I sort out a visa... but if I can't get that in time(due to being in Sweden next week & the week after),I would love to go to Singapore... I have been several times in the past and miss it a lot: in fact the only reason I DIDN'T go there & then just travel to Hong Kong for the football is that it was £300 more in air fare.

I HAVE seen a return flight on JetStar for £90, alas I have already paid my hotel bill in Hong Kong IN FULL and the only way I could spend more than an hour (Changi airport is fantastic, but not worth paying £90 to go see it unless I was a plane spotter!) in Singapore would be to travel in the morning & stay overnight before travelling back.

Is there any other way for a similar price (no more than about £110 or $1800 - $2000 (HKD not USD!!!!) that I could go for a day trip to Singapore and have at least 6 hours there?

    Thanks :-)
