Pharmacy technician...?

I am currently in America going to school to be a pharmacy technician. I would like to work in England. Is anyone out there (yahooland) looking for a student technician????? I wuld need a visa/work permit...

Update:

actually, pharmacy technician is on the UK's Skills Shortage Occupations List.

Update 2:

Glitter: I plan to stay on in England. Also, I have looked up job vacancies over there for techs and they are in the range of £13-£15 to start. Is that not a good rate of pay? That translates to approx $26-$30 here, which is excellent lol. :-/

Update 3:

Okayyyyy.....

If the job listing wasn't for a PT, why was it listed as such? :-/

Is what America calls a Pharmacy Tech and what England calls a Pharmacy Tech are two different things?

Do you want to come over to live,or just to train? If you are thinking of doing both, first i'd think about wether it might be worth training where you are,and then coming over.To become a pharmacy technician, you usually would start off as a medicine counter assistant, then work your way up to dispensing assistant, and then on to pharmacy technician. And the pay is really not great!Good luck anyway :-) xxx

edit- i think the hospital technicians probably earn more than community tech's....for a community tech, you can expect to earn between £7-£8 per hour, depending on the company. Not sure if a UK tech is classed same as an American tech, but i'm sure there can't be too much difference-after all,all bodies work in the same way,so the drugs can't be that different, can they?:-)lol!! I wish you the very best of luck, and hope you do well in your chosen career:-) xxxxx

Sorry to disappoint you but you would probably have to start at the beginning as a counter assistant in England.

The differences in the job as a pharmacy technician are just too great.

Also the pay you quoted is for an ACT (Accreditied Checking Technician) not a pharmacy technician. Most pharmacy technicians are paid between £6.50 and £8.00 an hour.

Going for the drugstore technician first could probable merely be a waste of time. It does not pay nicely adequate which you will have the skill to keep a lot and make a dent in how a lot college is going to value, and additionally you will likely not learn adequate to make it priceless. merely go commence the pre-pharm training instead.

If you were a pharmacist you could work in England, but a technician is not a universal profession. Laws differ in England.
