Gigglebyte started army crawling today!!?

I've been slowly baby proofing the living room area since he started getting on his hands and knees and rocking. Today was the first day he started actually being able to pull himself forward instead of pushing himself backwards (I am so proud of him!!). Was just wondering for those who have done the baby proofing was there something you forgot to do or did do and it wasn't necessary?

so far all drawers and shelves in his reach are empty/toy filled. The coffee table is being replaced with a safer one

access to vertical blinds has been eliminated

cords off the floor, tucked away

Of course once he starts walking/pulling himself up we have more to do but am I missing something? He can't get under any of the furniture (except coffee table), I have gates for the stairs... hmmmm gonna be a busy weekend spent on my hands and knees and not for the reasons I'd rather be on my hands and knees! (get your minds out of the gutter!!)

Update:

He's 6 and a half months old

Haha. Watch out for the little guy! Soon, he'll be able to get moving with that army crawl real fast.

Our problem was things we kept on the floor like shoes and stuff. My niece would crawl over and chew them. Yuck! So, we got a basket and kept our shoes outside on the porch. Or, you could get a tall basket to put them in.

I got rid of our coffee table when she started crawling because soon after she was pulling herself up and she bonked it a couple times. It was easier to just remove it then take a chance of her getting hurt on it. It had rounded corners.. but it still didnt matter she would fall way to easy.

Watch for the door stops, ours twists off.. thank goodness I found her with it before she could have stuck it in her mouth. They have baby-proof like ones but we just watch her close and make sure they are twisted on their fairly tight. She LOVES to play with it (it makes the BOING sound).

you sound like your on the right track.. only advice I can give is that you watch him because we find new things everyday that she discovers that we would've had NO idea would have been a concern.

aawwwww, how cute. One of these days my lazy, happy, well feed baby may start moving. How old is he?

I think you are doing good with baby proofing. Just always watch him ( I know it's not like you won't) and if he get in to something he should you know what to more or baby proof.

i think this is so funny, because you have to think that baby proofing your house became a thing in the 70's and 80's and for my parents we didnt have a baby proof house completely.. and for my son there are things that i know that he can chew on that he probably shouldnt but they have to learn these things and get a resistance you know... i think i might be too lenient but i know that my son is going to get hurt one way or another and i am not going to go crazy trying to baby proof our house because i know with all the visitors, it is impossible.

does that make me a bad parent?
