How do I stop my baby rabbit marking its teritory on me?

My baby house rabbit (he's about 12 weeks old) keeps weeing on me, we're in the process of toilet training him. He only does it on me not my boyfriend or anyone else and always follows me round the house. I looked on the internet and all I could see is that he is marking me as his own and that the only way to stop it is to get him neutered but we can't as he is too young as his testicles haven't dropped yet. What can we do in the mean time? And also any tips for toilet training him too? He has a litter tray full of sawdust in the two rooms he is allowed in but near where he poo's and wee's but he just does his business next to it. When he poo's or is pooing we pick him up and put him in the litter tray but he hops out. Thanks.

Sounds like you're doing good with him. I have known bucks to start marking at that age, there's not much you can do until he can be neutered. The litter training is going well for a male bunny of that age, try leaving food in the litter tray as bunnies like to eat as they go to toilet. I think you're doing everything right at the moment, just keep at it. Good luck!

That FAQ has a section on doing it right next to the litter box.

At 12 weeks of age he is not marking his territory they only start doing that when they reach sexual maturity, around 5-6 months. he is just having an accident or he gets so excited when you pick him up he just goes.

To litter train a rabbit this young you must first keep him in a cage with the litter box, then slowly move the litter box out of the cage after about a week of being in the cage.

he is very young yet and he will learn in time but it takes steps to get them to use a litter box.

Most rabbits will relieve themselves in one spot, either in a cage or in the rooms they are allowed to roam in. Try keeping him confined, watch where he potties and place the box there with some of his poop in it. he will get it eventually. Just remember rabbits are not like cats it takes alot longer and even then they may still just go sometimes.

Oh boy...you better get to a decent rabbit site, as you need solid info, not just a collection of stuff from people that wander across your question..try here:

Some rabbits are ready to be neutered at age 3 months (12weeks) it is usually a range of 3-5 months that is recommended. The sooner he gets it done, the less imprinted undesirable behavior is likely to be...but depends on the rabbit, too. Testicles in rabbits do not simply drop- they can be pulled back up into body cavity as a protection, and might do that when scared or nervous...like when someone flips him over to check on his testicles. Most rabbits are not fond of getting picked up...so he might be pulling testicles in when you do that. I have had a lot of rabbits neutered based on behavior only, and never did see anything else, really. Anyway....get into rabbit refs and see whats up with your bun, no need to sign in, but a lot of advice by dif. doctors etc.
