If your stay is longer than 21 days and it is so indicated on your required return or ongoing airlines ticket you will require a Tourist Visa. if your stay is 21 days or less, there is no need for a Tourist Visa.

Despite what many may post, if your visit to the Philippines is longer than 21 days and so indicated on your required or ongoing ticket you should get a Visitors Visa because the various airlines can deny you from boarding the aircraft if you do not have the proper Visa. The airlines have a Standard Operating Policy or procedure book with each final destination countries visa requirements. Sure the airlines may discount checking Visas for those who travel to the Philippines, but they have also do check some times. I would hate to take a chance of having the airlines catch me without proper Visa.

The very best place to confirm whether or not you need a Visa is with the Philippines Embassy or Consulate that services your area. Use popular search engine Google at www.google.com to determine Embassy or Consulate that services your area.

Also you stated you will be staying in country and arriving on a Saturday and leaving three weeks later, also on a Saturday. i count 22 days you will be in country and with that count, you require a Visitors Visa. Now as I have previously indicated you can obtain a tourist visa through the Philippines Embassy or Consulate that services your area. if there on time constrains, www.travisa.com also has an excellent service to facilitate Visa.

Confirm what I have posted with the Embassy or Consulate and more than likely they will agree with what i post. Make sure you take note in who you communicated with, for later reference if needed.

The immigration people only stamps the date of arrival ( not the time ) and your flight number in your passport.

Since you will not exceed the 21 day VISA given to you at the airport, I do not forsee a problem.

Enjoy you stay in the Philippines.

If you know you'll be exceeding 21 days, go to a local department of tourism and/or immigration office and get stamp edfor extension of stay.

If thats a hassle for you, or if your only exceeding a day or 2, just pay the fine at the airport. It's about P1500 a day, i think. It may have increased.

you could tell the immigration officer upon arrival , that your a Balikbayan and your mom is preserving a philippine passport , they'll stamp your arrival as " BB " , you could stay for a million 3 hundred and sixty 5 days ... in case you probably did no longer tell them , they're going to stamp your arrival for 21 dys stay basically.

Save yourself some hastle mate and go to your local Philippine Consular General Office and purchase an extended visa. Doesn't cost much and its relatively fast. Saves you a world of hastle. Be sure to do it just before you leave so it doesn't expire on you.

I don't believe it could be construed as overstaying but pack some extra cash in your pocket just in case they want you to pay a fine at the airport along with your terminal fee and travel tax.

I have over stayed my visa every time I have been there (5) it cost me at the airport 2500 peso each time. no real problem.
