Whats a good dose of valerian for sleep.

I have a hard time falling asleep. There are different brands that make valerian and contain 125mg up to 900mg for a single dose. Any personal experiences will help.

My husband used Valerian Root for a long time to help with insomnia. The proper dosage of Valerian Root is appx. 18-24 grams (1tsp liquid or 400-450mg of the root in caplets).

I use 250, but you may have a different tolerance. Start with 250, give it 45 minutes and take another 250 if you are not feeling relaxed. I find 5-htp works even better than valerian.
