2001 Dodge Caravan Heater....?

I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan. Overall, it runs great and is still going strong, but just yesterday, I turned on the heater, and it only blew out heat for about 10 seconds! After that, it slowly started to get cool, till it wasn't even warm at all.

The A/C button is turned off, and the climate control is turned all the way to hot....why is it doing this?

If anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it!

I would have your coolant checked first off. no coolant means no heat. If that is not the problem, you may have a heater control problem. If the heater control ( in dash) fails, it will get stuck on one or the other. Last but most expensive, a blockage in the heater core will give this exact symptom. If your coolant level is ok, you should get it to a garage to have it checked.

    (before the temperature drops) ;)

    good luck!

Probably has a heater core stopped up. Take the heater hoses off at the motor and force tap water through them with a garden hose. Go back and forth from one heater hose to the other to dislodge rust and sediments in the core.
