  • Car Audio Settings - HPF vs. LPF?

The following is the current configuration in my F150:

    - 4 Kicker KS68 Speakers

    - Kenwood 1000 Watt Class D Mono Amp

    - 12" Rockford Fosgate P3S12 (sealed enclosure)

Given my current setup, what do you think I should set my HPF and LPF to? As of right now, they are both turned off and it sounds great. I was just curious as to if there's a better setting I could be utilizing.

  • Seriously, why are so many Americans overweight/obese?

I don't want this to sound too much like a rant, but something has been bothering me a lot lately: the obesity problem in America. Did you know that the annual healthcare cost of obesity in the U.S. is $147 billion. This equates to 21 percent of healthcare spending in our country. If you've ever wondered where much of your taxpayer dollars are going, look no further.

But back to the question at hand. Given the vast negative implications associated with obesity, why do countless people continue to ruin their lives by way of overeating and lack of exercise? It's ridiculous the amount of obese people I see on a daily basis. There is no reason why the obese community cannot change their lifestyle - it's a matter of life or death!

I'm tired of witnessing the constant daily struggle of these people, whether that be some sort of pain, lack of energy, sickness, discrimination, etc. America, you need to wake up and take back your life. I'm sick and tired of watching you fail faster than the economy.

  • Best Type of Bar's Leak for F150 4.2L?

I've got a 99 F150 4.2L V6 with 261,000 miles on the odometer. She's still running like a champ, but it pains me to say she has a small leak in a head gasket. Because she's most likely running on borrowed time, I don't want to put forth a lot of money to get it fixed. So, what type of Bar's Leak would you recommend for this specific engine? There's several different kinds of this stuff: aluminum, copper, pellet/powder form, etc. So many choices!!

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Ford F150 Engine Knocking - Is She Done For?

I have a 2000 Ford F150 4.2L V6 with 258,000 miles on the odometer. Overall, the truck runs absolutely flawlessly - no loss in power, normal operating temperature, normal RPM, etc. Though recently, when I go to start her up in the morning, a rather loud knocking noise seems to come from inside the engine (imagine 2 pieces of metal slapping against each other)

After driving for roughly 60 seconds, the noise completely disappears. And it seems the only time I hear it is after letting it sit for more than 30 minutes or so. My question is simply what could be causing this noise? I was hoping to squeeze 300,000 miles out of her but I don't know how long she's going to last now. Like I said, it still drives wonderfully and everything.

Something to note also is that I believe I have a small, minor leak somewhere in the coolant system. Small traces of coolant will appear in the oil as well. (The slight leaking of the coolant has occurred for about 2 1/2 years now)

Anyway, I hope this was explained sufficiently enough. Just looking for some simple feedback/advice. Thanks in advance!!

  • Can I use left over/excess power cable as ground cable?

While DISCONNECTED from the amp, I accidentally touched the power cable with the ground cable. Sparks went flying and I smelt a funny odor. Since then, when I go to turn on my radio, my amp only lights up for a second and then looses power. Unfortunately, I feel I've fried my ground wire (upon close inspection, the power/battery cables fuse is still good along with amp signal wire and RCA's)

My question is simply this: When replacing my ground wire, can I use left over power/battery cable? I have about 3 feet left over from the install. Thank you for your help!!

  • No Games Found on Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Xbox)?

Before anybody claims my internet connection is poor, or I've failed to set up Xbox Live properly, please know every other game - Call of Duty, Red Dead, Forza, etc. - works flawlessly with ZERO lag. Now for my problem. When I attempt to play multiplayer on Battlefield Bad Company 2, I receive the infamous "No games found, please try again" message 95% of the time.

I've called EA for support and I was told the issue was most likely my router blocking specific ports in which the game required to play. EA provided me with the ports to open, so I configured my router and opened the ports provided. Even after this, I still cannot find any games.

What's really confusing me about all this is that I can find games with ease at my friends house. And from what I've been told, we have the same router! (Linksys E1000)

Could there be a firewall setting that is prohibiting me from finding games? If so, why are no other games affected? Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • East Coast Beaches that Allow Vehicles?

I'm the proud owner of a Jeep Wrangler and I've been wanting to take it to the beach. I live in Richmond, VA and was wondering what beaches, if any, allow you to take your vehicle on the sand. I'm willing to drive to the location as long as it's no more than a 4 hour drive. Jeeps aren't good long distance vehicles, haha. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.

  • Laptop Will Not Connect to Range Plus Router...?

I have an HP nc6320 laptop. It's about two years old and I have had no prior problems with connecting wireless. I had Verizon DSL for several years and my laptop was easily able to connect to Verizon's Modem/Router they provided me with.

After having constant speed issues with DSL, we decided to switch to Comcast. The speed is very fast and we are rather pleased. Comcast only provides you with a Modem, so its up to us to purchase a wireless router. Needing a router, I decided to purchase the Linksys WRT110 (RangePlus) router. I've connected the Xbox 360 and the PS3 to it with no problems. But when it comes to the laptop, it will not connect. It constantly reads "Acquiring Network Address" over and over again.

The wireless is ON on the laptop and I have correctly setup up the router and downloaded the latest drivers for my laptop. I'm very confused as to why the laptop will not connect to the router. I even tried resetting my IP Address, but still no luck.

Does anybody have any tips or suggestions on what to do or what may be the problem? Thanks in advance!

  • Computer Shows 3GB of Ram When I Have 4GB?

I have a Dell Dimension 4700 with and Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.00Ghz with an ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB. I recently installed 2GB into my system making a physical total of 4GB.

Though, my computer claims I have only 3GB. Now I know that a 32-bit version of Windows XP only recognizes up to 3GB of ram.

What I was wondering is if that 1GB of memory that windows doesn't recognize will go to use or not. When I play a graphically intense game, will my computer use that extra memory to help performance?

Do I have 4GB for nothing?

  • Random Windows Update?

My PC is running windows XP and like every other XP user, I download the automatic updates that microsoft sends out. Until now, every update has gone smoothly with no problems downloading of any sort.

For some reason, the current update states it's downloading Office XP Service Pack 3. But at about step 2 of 3, a window pops up stating me to insert disk with "Frontpage".

The thing is, I don't have Frontpage! What's the deal. If I don't have it, why is it asking me for it? I try to ignore the update, but it keeps showing up everytime I turn on the computer....

  • ATV Backfiring?......?

I have a 2002 Yamaha Warrior 350 ATV. I've kept it i good condition, as there is no deep scrapes or dents on the body. Though, one day, I went out riding with my friend and I rode it harder than usual. He had a dirt track and his trails were extremely bumpy.

A few days after I rode with him, I took my ATV out for a short ride and I noticed it was backfiring every so often. It's not a loud backfire, it's like 2-3 consecutive pops, usually when I let of the gas.

I've never experienced backfiring with my ATV before until the day I rode with my friend. What's causing the backfire? Is it hard to fix?

  • MotoRokr Z6m to a PS3?

I have a Motorola ROKR Z6m and I'm trying to connect it via bluetooth to the PS3. I go under settings for bluetooth on the PS3 and it says it must register the product first. So I hit scan and it searches for the device. So, I go over to my phone and hit the option "find me".

I've tried and tried, but the PS3 cannot locate the phone. What am I doing wrong?

  • Choosing the Right Sub and Enclosure?.....?

I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ. I recently swapped out the old front speakers with two Infinity's (135 watts peak power) and put in a 6-speaker roll bar (3-way 200 Watt maximum with two 6" woofers, two 2" mid-range and two 1" tweeters)

The only issue I have with the set-up is the lack of bass, so I'm planning on purchasing a sub. The problem is that I have no clue on what to buy. What size would be suitable? With the lack of space in a wrangler, I don't want anything to large also....

I've also heard that picking the right enclosure is really important. Who makes a decent one?

    Any suggestions would be awesome!

    Thanks!

  • 2001 Dodge Caravan Heater....?

I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan. Overall, it runs great and is still going strong, but just yesterday, I turned on the heater, and it only blew out heat for about 10 seconds! After that, it slowly started to get cool, till it wasn't even warm at all.

The A/C button is turned off, and the climate control is turned all the way to hot....why is it doing this?

If anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it!

  • Wii Fit Question.....Why?

Okay, I work at a major retail store and I can't tell you how many people come in asking for a Wii Fit.

Now do they really think a plastic board is going to transform their life. I mean come on, when was the last time you heard someone say, I lost 50 lbs playing Nintendo! Never!

The one thing these millions of people need is a gym membership. That will provide them with real equipment and a great work out.

America needs to stop trying to have fun at everything they do. Working out is not neccesarily supposed to be fun. Hard work and dedication is going to get you where you want to be!

  • For you Obama fans out there.....Why?

So i've been thinking....this presidential election, who are you voting for? Now I'm not a die hard republican, but if you've been watching the debates, the choice should be clear for everyone. America needs an experienced, strong leader as President. Now these adjectives, strong, experienced, Maverick, they explain one person, John McCain!

Here's another question....If your an Obama fan, what do you feel he will bring to this country....now your answer is probably change. Well how is Obama going to bring change when he doesn't have the experience to do so? What has Obama done for this country? He hasn't served in the military, neither has he ever been a mayor or Governor!

Obama fans, I respect your opinion and your state of mind, but for God's sakes, don't vote for Obama because of his racial background. Which is the reason behind millions of people's votes.

Obama can talk the talk, but if he's elected, all of America will see, he can't walk the walk.

    I say NObama!

Will the power supply on my Dell Dimension 4700 be able to handle an ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4 Video Card?

I currently have an ATI Radeon X800 XT 256MB Video Card and it runs fine.

I don't know if this will help with the question, but I have 2 gigs of ram, and a 3.0GHz Processor with Hyper Threading Technology.
