Before anyone jumps on me, I'm just helping this person out. I don't really believe what I'm saying here. Now, here's the answer that immediately comes to mind. Others who know more than me feel free to chime in and correct anything I say that's off base.
Marxists believe that the capitalist system will always try to expand it's territories because they can't possibly sustain the huge gap between the rich and the poor by any other means. In other words, to maintain the American way of life for both ultra rich and poor in America, we are compelled to suck the resources out of countries that are rich in natural resources, but poor economically. A Marxist views all this conquering of poor countries, and victimization through wage slavery (sweatshops in 3rd world countries) as stop-gap measures that are delaying the inevitable collapse of the capitalist society. The rich will always want more and more, widening the gap between the rich and poor in the rich country itself (America in your case) when the gap is wide enough, and the situation dire enough, the lower classes will rise up and start a revolution.
Also, they would see the resistance of the Iraqi people as being the resistance of the poor proletariat against the capitalist invasion. They are defying the institution of wage slavery, at least according to Marxists.
Just remember that all things are supposed to result in a communist system. Marxists believe that any other system is so inherently flawed that it will eventually collapse under its own weight.

I would also have a tough time trying to shove a square block into a round hole. The Communist Manifesto in know way relates to the Iraq war. Your professor is grasping for something that is nonexistent. Debate the issue. Do not rely on media reports, except those in relation to Chemical weapons used by Iraq during the 80's. Go to the source. Investigate the debate and votes in the house and senate. Google mustard gas, sarin gas or GB, yellow cake. Read the Constitution, Article I, Section 8, 11th paragraph. Read the UN resolutions and reports prior to March 2003. Read the Communist Manifesto.
Good job DRKANGEL. I would have a hard time telling that story, but you are very correct from the marxist point of view. I will vote you best answer.

Well since the whole point of the invasion was to get rid of WMDs, Saddam and turn Iraq into a democracy I can't see how Marxism had anything to do with it.
