If you were caught stealing alcohol in the US at 18 would you go to prison/jail?

It really depends on how people feel when they catch you doing it. Where I work, we have days when we catch people stealing alcohol and we let them go completely, and others when they go to jail and pay fines.

Petty theft. You get a fine, unless you have multiple offenses. Worst case scenario is you'll spend one day in jail.

depends on if you have any priors- you'll probably get charged with a felony if you resisted with force and spend a month in jail (in California)

first time jail....2nd time it would be up to the judge, but you could go to prison
