Why has Obama appointed former newscasters into his administration?

Very astute of you young man that is exactly what it is.This is his way of paying back NBC,CBS,CNN,MSNBC etc etc for licking his boots during and after the election.Jill Zuckman from the Chicago Tribune was hired as the Director of Public Affairs at the DOT,Times Magazine Jim Carney is Bidens communications director,Dr.Sanjay Gupta CNN top of the list for surgen general and Linda Douglas ABC she is the director of health reform just to name a few.

I doesn't take much for Obama to get favorable coverage in the mass media. He's got them totally in his pocket already. But I imagine it doesn't hurt to have a few insiders on the payroll. Perhaps it's just his way of paying back some of the favors.

Most all churches have a high priest and lesser clergy. The current administration is no different. The media are the acolytes of this administration.

surely. And the persons in this usa that help the anti-Israel schedule are in all probability the 1st ones to trumpet the politically ideal proper dogma. you understand--type and such. yet they fail to be sure that the Palestinians are their very own worst enemy. They choose for Hamas? they are committed to the destruction of Israel. They actively sabotage any attempt at negotiations and peace talks that the Israelis furnish. There may be a peace indoors the middle East (uneasy in all probability) if the Palestinians acted like adults rather of belligerent babies. How pc is that?

It would help if you said who you are talking about. Then maybe we could figure out why each one was appointed to whatever it is they are actually doing. As it is the only former newscaster politician I can think of is Sarah Palin. She could have been VP! Thank God for very large favors that she isn't.

You already know it, and I agree that is exactly the reason for it, to have friends in the Media to do mass cover ups, like the Clinton's had too.

So true. I remember when Bush appointed Tony Snow as press secretary, he made him promise to not use his influence to get him favorable coverage on Fox News. And Snow kept his promise - Fox News was very very hard on President Bush.

He's trying to keep up with Republicans, who most recently appointed a former newscaster as candidate for Vice President (Palin).
