    Oh! I thought you asked about Б, б /B, b/ alphabet.

Okay, the soft sign (Ь, ь) is called "зөөлний тэмдэг" in Mongolian, and "мягкий знак" or "ерь" in Russian.

Mongolian the soft sign grammar may be difficult. Sometimes the soft sign (Ь, ь) changes into (И, и) alphabet (its grammar rules is really exhausting and difficult to express and translate, I'm sorry). For example:

тарь + сан = тарьсан (means adj. planted)

захь + дал = захидал (means letter)

The soft sign (Ь, ь) and (И, и) alphabet both spelled as (I, i) in Latin. For example:

    тарьсан is spelled 'tarisan'

    захидал is spelled 'zahidal'

The soft sign (Ь, ь) doesn't completely ignored. I mean, it can't pronounced, but sounds different in words and the meaning of the words would be different. Okay, for example:

    тарь means 'to plant'

    тар means 'to spread out',

    харь гариг means 'other planet'

    хар means 'black color'

In Russian, vowels after the soft sign are pronounced separately from the previous consonant and are iotated (compare Russian льют [lʲjut] '(they) pour/cast' and лют [lʲut] '(he is) fierce').

In the romanization of Cyrillic words, soft signs are typically replaced with the prime symbol (or, alternatively, apostrophe) or just ignored (especially in the final position: Тверь=Tver, Обь=Ob etc.).
