Does/did polyvisol make your baby fussy?

I never gave my son regular polvisol, because he was formula fed and getting the adequate vitamins and minerals needed (it is recommended to be given to breastfed babies at 2 weeks of age for an iron supplement). When my son turned 6 months we started him on Poly Vi Flor (polyvisol with floride), and OMG it made him very gassy, fussy and constipated. This is a baby who sleeps without any difficulty 12 hours at night, and he was getting up 2-3 times a night crying in pain. So then I decided to give it to him just 3 times a week...this didn't work, so I completly stopped giving it to him. My son is 7 months and I spoke with his dr, and had them switch him off of the multivitamin to just a floride supplement. Because my son is still drinking formula and eating solids (fruits, veggie, and meats) he doesn't need the multivitamin because he's getting a complete balanced diet.

my 6 month old son takes this once a day...along with 5 other meds. he has a kidney disease and has become a pro at taking meds, and this one doesn't seem to bother him- it stinks badly like iron and he doesn't exactly love the taste but he does well, and it doesn't make him constipated.
