Why does my cat hate my guitar?

He freaks out every time I touch it, or strums the strings. He bolts out the room like nobodies business, and will look at me fearfully for several minutes afterwards, as if I'm going to surprise-strum at him again.

I have never had, or seen a cat that does this before. Is this common, and I just haven't noticed it? Or is my cat a spaz?

Thanks in advance.

Mine does too. They have sensitive ears and I think I read somewhere they have 10X better hearing than humans - she doesnt like my hairdryer either she only has to see it and she flips out.

Your cat's a spaz. My dog doesn't like my drumset for obvious reasons. Their sensitive ears can detect the strum strings at levels, especially the higher note strings, and something clicks in their head and makes them bolt. Just make sure he doesn't spray on your guitar.

Might it make extra experience the opposite direction round? Perhaps a few humans like guitar track, however hate gambling the guitar. ... I surprise how that could then translate to the Christians' homosexuality argument (hate the sin, love the sinner).

no cats have sensitive ears. they have better hearing then humans so even the smallest sound they can hear. if they don't like the sound that will also cause them to go running. its best to practice guitar when your cat is in a different room. when you are in a separate closed area or someplace esle.

He's probally just scared of it.

Maybe the guitar fell on him when he was jumping around.

A lot of different things scare animals like vacumes.

just don't force him near the guitar.
