How Do You Split Credit Card Tips?

Keep in mind this is a job that traditionally does not pay less than minimum wage, however, thanks to the great guy who owns it we are paid $5.00/hour.

So my question is I got a credit card receipt for a HUGE order (over $500), biggest single order that I have ever seen (we sell pizzas).

I had someone help me take the order and the customer paid with a credit card, so even though I split the tip I received ($94), up-front I was told when I came back that there was no way to split credit card receipts. So I had to claim $94, while the other guy didn't have to claim a single thing.

The funny thing is, it seems to me that the company I work for wants it both ways. How do restaurants, that traditionally employ people largely to earn tips work this out? Preferably I could get an answer from someone who has to tip the cooks 10%, the buser 10%, et cetera.

I am sure there has to be a way to do it..I actually intend on paying my taxes appropriately, and have no intention of paying taxes on half a tip someone else earned. Thanks!

Update:

Credit card are automatically counted, yes, I will absolutely be tipped on it unless I can do something.

We tried claiming negative cash today but that didn't work, the only other thing I was told so to no longer claim cash for 47 days..

Update 2:

To Love:

Credit card are automatically counted, yes, I will absolutely be tipped on it unless I can do something.

We tried claiming negative cash today but that didn't work, the only other thing I was told so to no longer claim cash for 47 days (I claim a dollar every day, and intend on doing the rest at the end of the year along with my gas credits)..

    that's bologna...

the pizza place has to give you the money from the credit card. you don't collect directly.

since they have to take the $94 out of the credit card receipt, they can give whatever employee

whatever is right. half to you and half to the other guy and note it tax wise accordingly.

might make more work for the manager, but that;s too bad and you tell them that.

any problems contact your local state operated employment agency.

When I waited tables, on the finish of the night time, the eating place could tally up your earnings and that's how so much we owed the eating place. Tips by way of bank card have been paid in coins to us by means of the eating place on the finish of every shift. I preferred it while I was once paid my hints at the bank card. Less cash for me to have got to manage during the night time, then I would calculate it myself on the finish of the night time and know the way good I did. As for taxes, I am no longer certain if it is like this in each and every state, however we have been taxed on eight% of our earnings-- I feel the gov't assumes you get 15% on part your tickets and stiffed at the leisure. We under no circumstances needed to document something. The taxes have been taken out of our $two+/hr salary, so our weekly paychecks have been nugatory.
