New York or LA: Which should I move to?

La has a higher crime rate. The stand up scene in new york is huge and supportive. You can find yourself performing in midtown in your first week. Yeh, you aren't going to get paid for it and the other people in the room are going to be performers too but it's a good scene.

there seems to be many people form texas in nyc, if you are from texas.

They dont call NYC the city of lights for nothing. It is beyond amazing and the opportunities are endless. You can rub elbows with practically anyone. Cheaper? The city is never cheap but you can get decent housing for a good price in the suburbs minutes away by public transportation and even though idiots with no idea will tell you its unsafe, its just like any other city..it has its bad parts but chances are you will never have the need to go near them. From what I hear LA is much more dangerous and has alot of issues especially with the hispanic population and is the birthplace of gangs (FBI's most dangerous gang functions out of LA)

LA would probably be cheaper and have less crime. New York would probably be better for comedians though. New York! :)
