What do you do when you can't sleep at night?

Can't seem to get to sleep even though feeling tired. Short of taking sleeping pills, what can be done to "induce" sleep? tried liquor.. and its not working.. sigh..

    Some things that help me to get to sleep are

    - Switching my electric blanket on (warmth makes me sleepy)

    - Drinking chamomile tea (caffeine free)

    - Lying in the dark and thinking about the day till I pass out

    - Making sure the room is pitch black helps

    - Tense every muscle in your body and slow relax them from your toes to your head (relaxation method)

    - Soothing music

    - A hot shower before bed

    - NO caffeine at least 4 hours before I want to sleep (coke, coffee, tea w/caffeine etc)

    - No watching tv or using electronics in bed

    I take sleeping pills & listen to this music on youtube called "Sleep Music" I downloaded it on my ipod. But I only listen to it when I want to sleep, sometimes I don't want to sleep for some reason... :P

    normally when i have difficulties sleeping , i'll play my handphone games and soon i'll sleep ..
