What's a good way to start an introduction for a persuasive essay for video games?
"Why video games are not bad for society?"
- I have most of my points down but it's just starting the essay itself that I'm having trouble with. How do you engage your readers from the beginning with this topic?
- For those who oppose this topic, I'm not looking for any opinions/objections. Just helpful suggestions for this topic itself. Thank you.

Starting off with a fact that may surprise the reader would be a good way to start your persuasive essay. For example "Many people believe that video games negatively impact society. However, research proves that this is not true. Good Luck!

Starting with a quote can be good. The introduction sentence is probably the most important line in an essay because it grabs the attention of the reader and makes them decide if they want to read your essay or not. Briefly explaing videogames in the rest of the intro will also let the reader know the basic about them. And also, be sure to have a thesis statement in your intro.
anyways, as i said, a quote is a great way to catch attention. as to whose quote, idk. it could be from a game or from someone talking about video games. Maybe find a quote that somebody said about how video games are a terrific art form where the player lives out the story instead of just reading it or w/e. i don't know if there is one, but i'm sure you could find a good one if you google it.

Hi Jennie,
Video games are a big market these days. Within the past few years, the
industry has boomed into a very large business. Within this business, there are
three big companies are fighting to be the best. Nintendo's N64, Sega's Saturn,
and Sony's Playstation are the three main systems in this huge market. Because
there are so many games for these systems, and because it is such a big business,
stores specializing in only these games are opening everywhere.
A few days ago, I walked into one of these stores. My friend wanted to
purchase the new nintendo machine. According to the reviews, the system was
supposed to be able to have amazing polygon graphics. Video games coming out
these days are considered good if they consist of many polygonal graphics moving
at a smooth and fast speed. From what he said, I thought that no other video
