Please recommend me some shoujo mangas!?

I just started Switch Girl!! and I love it already.

I'm wanting to read some more, so please recommend me some!

I am looking for a manga that is considerably recent and has lots of romance (preferably high school setting), sad moments, and funny moments.

Also, if you have a Japanese RAW download link, please include it. :)

Thanks so much!

These are all the shojo mangas I can think of right now:

Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! comes to mind first. It's really good and still ongoing. Read this!!!!!

    Ouran High School Host Club

    Fruits Basket, which everyone loves.

Vampire Knight, it's a little more serious.

    Love Hina is pretty good.

Gakuen Alice is awesome! Not high school though...

Ultra Maniac was one of my first mangas, so it's really special!

    D.N.Angel is also good.

    Shugo Chara

    Special A

    Sand Chronicles

    Hana-Kimi

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, which is technically shonen but I'm a girl and I still read it, lol. It has a lot of romance, so that's good.

    Skip Beat

Sugar Sugar Rune seems to be a really well-received manga, and it looked pretty good.

Also, you could go on Mangafox.com and advance search some mangas. There's a lot of genres you can narrow it down to, like shojo, school life, comedy, slice of life, and romance! You'll find a lot of really good mangas on Manga Fox. Also, the site gives you descriptions of each genre.

    Hope this helped! :)

Alright I got some that I've been reading lately, I really like ones with multiple love interests etc... ^^

    ANYWAY!!

    1. SLH-Stray Love Hearts (its short, but i enjoyed it!)

On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, Kozue Hiyoki is visited in her dreams by a man who steals her heart- literally! Determined to find him and retrieve her stolen heart, Hiyoki, with the color of the man’s hair and the tattoo on his chest as her only leads, enrolls in the S-Hall dormitories of St. Nazareth Academy, but quickly realizes that its residents are not at all like she expected… For starters, they’re all guys!

There, Hiyoki soon discovers that she has the ability to look inside her dorm-mates’ dreams, which may be the key to uncovering the identity of the thief who stole her heart…. But perhaps her biggest challenge is that most of the guys won’t let Hiyoki into their rooms, much less their hearts!

    2. Barajou no Kiss:

Most girls are crazy about jewelry, but not Anis Yamamoto. Not since her father gave her a rose choker as a child, claiming it was a protective amulet which would safeguard her from harm; however, if she ever took it off (a feat easier said than done!), she would be afflicted by a “punishment” of some sort. Not like it matters to her though, since the attention it attracts around school from faculty and students alike isn’t something she’s particularly fond of.

But after a certain incident causes the choker to disappear, she realizes that this punishment her father spoke of might have been a bit more than she bargained for!

I really like this one, again multiple love interests and its ongoing and im loving it >.<!!

    3. This one is kind of popular so you might know of it already: Skip Beat!

Kyouko Mogami lived solely for her childhood friend Shoutaro "Shou" Fuwa. She follows Shou to Tokyo so that he may realize his dream of becoming a famous singer. When his dream is realized, Kyouko overhears the truth behind his decision to bringing her with him: he was using her as a maid.

Shocked and enraged, Kyouko swears to take revenge by outdoing him in show business. With a new look and a new attitude, she joins LME, the agency where Ren Tsuruga (Shou's rival and the #1 actor of LME) works, in the hopes of achieving her goal of destroying Shou's pride.

Along the way, she discovers her true self, makes new friends (and enemies), and finds herself at the heart of some interesting situations that will change her life, and the lives of all others involved, forever.

^I absolutely love this one. The summary doesnt even do it justice. It has complex characters(especially Ren ♥) And i love complex characters with like an unknown history or background and stuff. So yeah this is definitely one of my favs :D

    4. GE-Good Ending (also ongoing)

A follow-up to a heavy response to the original yomi-kiri manga by the same title.

Good Ending follows the main character Utsumi's interactions with Kurokawa Yuki, a member of the school tennis team, in order for Utsumi to confess his feelings to the captain of the tennis team.

It is implied that the title of the manga is derived from the "good endings" that are achieved in visual novels.

^Again, this also has a complex character and the summary also doesnt do it justice haha. It goes WAY more in depth then that summary.

Thats all for now i guess...I hope that I could help ^^

Here's a list of shoujo mangas that I've read over the summer and are completed. And most of them take place in a high school/school life setting. :) And none of these have fantasy or stuff like that. :P

    Backstage Prince-

Backstage Prince is the story of Akari, your basic, average girl, who meets by a twist of fate; the masochistic, childish, anti-social, and beautiful bishounen, Ryusei, also know as his kabuki stage name; Shonosuke Ichimura.

    Highschool Debut-

Haruna Nagashima gave her all to softball in middle school, and now that she\'s made her high school debut she\'s decided to give her all for a new goal. Getting a boyfriend and falling in love! However, she has one small problem. Since she never paid any attention to fashion or trend in middle school she has no idea how to go about attracting her yet-to-be-found love. But a chance encounter with with Yoh Komiyama provides her with the opportunity she needs. If he coaches her in how to become attractive, surely she can find herself a boyfriend!

Monkey High- I absolutely love this one! ^__^

After her politician father is disgraced in scandal, Haruna Aizawa transfers to a new school. Haruna is convinced that school life is just like a monkey mountain—all the monkeys form cliques, get into fights, and get back together again. She even meets a boy named Masaru (aka Macharu) who reminds her of a baby monkey!

    Otokomae! Beads Club-

Have you ever seen a "very manly girl"? The heroine in this story, Oikawa Ibuki, is just that type of girl. To find her true soul mate, after transferring schools, Ibuki was determined to act like a gentle lady. Yet on her first day of transfer, due to her righteous sense she went to save a small dog, and at the time she was seen by the suspicious "crow messenger"! Is Ibuki's whole image ruined!? And who is this mysterious "crow messenger"!?

Kimi wa Girlfriend- This one was really funny and cute. haha. :D

t's about a girl named Hatsune with a "bad mouth", for lack of a better description. She's kind-hearted, but her mouth spews the total opposite of what she means (which is probably due to the fact that she grew up with only male influence). And so she is seen as an arrogant, vulgar girl at her school, but all she wants is a boyfriend. Well, that is, until she gets accepted at the Maidens' Club, where she meets a guy named Kirie, with a somewhat unique habit that happens when a girl comes within a foot of him. And everyone says he's gay, even Hatsune. How will these two fare? Will Hatsune have a boyfriend at last? Will he be more than just a friend?

Cat Street- I really liked this one. :DD

he story centers around Keito Aoyama, a former famous child actor. Due to a childhood incident, she retired from her career early and withdrew from normal society. Now 16, she passes her days in boredom and without purpose. But one day she runs into a stranger who takes her to El Liston--a free school for high school students like herself, who don't have a place where they belong. Though hesitant at first, Keito decides to enter El Liston and subsequently, she begins a new stage in her life. With the help of her only remaining childhood friend, Taiyou, and her new classmates Rei, Momiji, and Kouichi, Keito slowly finds the courage to open up to others and to accept their support. Will Keito return to acting? Will she find true friends?

    Ongoing but really good mangas.

    Dengeki Daisy-

“No matter what happens, I’ll protect you.” Teru, who lost her only remaining relative, her older brother, is cheered on by a mail from an enigmatic person, DAISY, who she can contact via the cellphone her brother gave her. One day, through an unexpected incident, Teru ends up working as a servant for the delinquent school janitor, Kurosaki. But this scoundrel, Kurosaki is really…!?

Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama- If you're in to the tough girl then this ones for you. :)

Once an all boys school, Seika High, a renowned school full of reckless and filthy students, has recently become a co-ed school. However, with the female population still remaining a minority even after the change over the recent years, Ayuzawa Misaki takes it into her own hands to reform the school and allow a chance for the girls to feel safer in the rough environment...

    Kimi Ni Todoke-

Sawako Kuronuma, called Sadako by her classmates for her resemblance to the character Samara from 'The Ring' (a popular Japanese horror movie), has always been feared and misunderstood because of her appearance. There are rumors that Sawako can see ghosts and curse people. But when her idol, the popular Kazehaya, begins talking with her, everything changes. She finds herself in a new world, making new friends and talking to different people. Sawako opens up to new people, making it easy for them to hurt her or help her. Which will her new friends do?
