Wanting to transfer VHS to DVD?

I transferred one VHS tape to DVD using a MyGica Capit adapter, but it is a real pain. I think I need to buy a VHS/DVD unit with dubbing capabilities. I know these have been out for a long time, but I don't know which of the new units would be the best to buy. Does anyone have any suggestions? Obviously I would like to buy a unit that is not so expensive. As an alternative, since I have a VHS player, I could just buy a DVD recorder and connect the two. Would this work and what DVD recorder would you suggest?

I hook a VHS player up to DVD recorder that hooked to TV. I press record on the DVD Recorder, play VHS player and start recording. I watch the recording, stop recording when done. Finalize the DVD. I only record onto DVD-RW. I do this because, a soon as I transfer these files to my computer, I can reformat that DVD and record on it again. Most any DVD recorder would work. I use a JVC unit, we bought used 5 or 6 years ago. It has severed me well.

Get a DVD recorder. Any major brand one. They are practically commodity devices anyways.
