How do I send an email to Japan?

Question

I've been emailing a couple friends who live in Japan, and I recently got an email from a friend I haven't talked to in a while. I replied to her, but the email wasn't sent. 

She uses XXXXX@ezweb.ne.jp address, but so do all my other friends and emails to them are sent perfectly fine.

I've tried sending it with live.com (hotmail) and yahoo.co.jp (Yahoo Japan) but neither of them work.

Does anyone know why it's not being sent?

Also, would I be able to send a message via my iPhone 4 SMS to my friend's cell phone email address in Japan?

Sometimes Japanese phones are set to reject unknown addresses to protect against scammers.
Make sure your email address is on her white list.

There is probably something else wrong with her email address, or with her inbox. If ALL of the other, similar email addresses you have work, this isn't an issue with sending email to Japan in general, it's an issue with her specific address or inbox.

Looks like it might be a mobile phone.  I have a couple of friends whose provider restricts incoming email.  The emails don't bounce but they never get them.  Don't recall which address I was using, whether it was one of my own domains or a HotMail/Gmail account.

Yeah I think there's proBABly something wrong with her incoming box. Unfortunately, nothing's coming into it nor nothing wants to. I guess it's not been used for decades. By now it must stink severely and have many webs and cottage cheese. Lady, it's got a big ugly issue. Do something with it.

Look at her message. At the top it should say " reply ", click on that and write your message.
