Can a dealer take my car back if my license is suspended?

So my license was suspended and I knew when I bought the car (this isn't yahoo judgement, it's yahoo answers) but apparently the company I bought it from didn't find out until about a week later. I did finance the car and got insurance and everything on the suspended l's. But now they're calling me everyday saying they want the car back because my license is suspended. Can they do that?

Who financed the car? Unless it is a buy here pay here the car company no longer own the car, the finance company does. Your current with the payments and have the car insured, it is none of their business about your driver license now.

Generally you need a valid license to even register a vehicle. If not, what were you intending to do with it? They are probably afraid that you will drive it anyway and it would be impounded or worse if you had an accident without a valid license (which would likely NOT be covered by insurance). So turn it in and wait until you have a valid license.

yes becasuse you are not & cannot be insured with a suspended license, Doesnt matter if you paid, you are not covered. The lender has no security for the loan so they probably refused to fund it. No loan, the car isnt yours.

if you lied you committed fraud. Obtaining goods or services using frauduent means is a crime. They have the right to recind the contract and repo the car. They also have the right to file criminal charges against you. Don't push your luck.

How did you get insurance with a suspended D/L. Did you lie to them too?

Don't know why they can if you are current with your payments.
