Leaving a budgie home alone all day?

By birthday plans have been delayed, so my family and I are going to Busch Gardens after I get my budgie. I would only of had my budgie for a week. It would be one day! 10am-10pm. I feel bad because I have been waiting for months and now my plans are changed. I would leave plenty of food and water. He would have his toys. Should I leave a light on because before we get home it will be dark and he won't have his cage covered yet?

Being a new bird, it won't really care if you are there or not. It may just give him time to relax a little. But what I always did when I left my bird was to turn on Spongebob. He was never happier than when he was watching spongebob. Anything colorful and silly your bird will love.

i became into questioning that comparable factor, basically i presumed possibly basically a million/2 a week to a million week. My budgies have a pal although, i don't think of it is totally smart to circulate away a lone budgie on my own for even an afternoon with the aid of fact they at the instant are not meant to be on my own. it is why I have been given my budgie in pairs, so despite if I wasn't around, and that i had meant on leaving them for a pair days each and every from time to time, then they might have somebody to circulate to with and shop them corporation. I heard how ordinary it became into for parrot-kind birds to strengthen psychological ailments. they're very needy. yet yea, in a month in case you are able to not get somebody to come again in and exchange the nutrients and water, the water might truthfully be undrinkable ... it would be like yellow by applying the time you got here decrease back.

that's totally okay. i have 3 budgies but once when i had only 2 we had to leave them alone for 4 days because we sent on vacation. i did not leave a light on because in the wild, budgies fall asleep as soon as the sun goes down. i keep my birds' cage near the window so they will be entertained and have sufficient light. i left the shades up when i left on vacation btw so he would know when it gets dark. as long as he has food, water, and toys, he will be fine. especially since it is just one day

It will be fine. Leave the blinds open on your windows so that natural light can get in. You're budgie will be fine if you don't cover the cage when it gets dark.

How old are you? I cannot believe you are a TC in the Birds category & yet are asking this question that I would expect from a naive novice.

Your budgie will be fine for goodness sake it is only 12 hours not 12 days.

it will be fine - you don't have to but you could leave a radio on I would not worry about the light or him not being covered when dark

It's a bird, it doesn't care if you're there or not as long as it has food and water. It will be fine.
