Seed diet or pellet diet for budgie?

I have heard a pellet diet is healthier than a seed diet, but the pellets petco sells all have artificial coloring. I read a seed diet will lead to bacteria build up which results in a short life. I of course want him to live a long healthy life. Here is the seed mix I pick vs. the pellets.

Pellets-http://www.petco.com/product/12566/ZuPreem-AvianMa...

Which one is better?

The seed diet is the one you want, vets recommend pellets, but all the top breeders including myself feed seed.Seed is the natural diet eaten in the wild. The seed you have put on here looks to be o/k ,but I would prefer Katee Supreme Daily Blend,or you could mix the two, that would be even better.

Do not take any notice of all the rubbish about seed shortening there lives.

You will have to check what diet the bird is on when you get it,if it is on pellets and you want to change to seed you will have to change gradually.

There's little difference between a excellent Cockatiel eating regimen and a good Budgie eating regimen. The principal change is Cockatiels do not on the whole care a lot for fruit. The foremost factor for both of them is to preserve the seeds as 20% or much less, of the entire food plan. Pellets are good. But they also must have tons of fruits, veggies, leafy vegetables and different trustworthy persons meals to stay healthy over the long run. In case you are not definite what is ok and what's no longer, do a search of "dependable parrot foods" and "toxic foods for parrots".
