Yahoo Answers is shutting down on 4 May 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.
What is wrong with this site?
What on earth has Yahoo done in the last week that has borked this site beyond belief?
As I surf, it randomly switches from the new layout to the old layout.
It constantly logs me out when I'm in the middle of doing something.
The rate buttons randomly stop working.
The submit buttons randomly stop working (and once you click them, your text is locked, so you can't copy it, reload the page, and paste it back in).
And now today I keep getting "failed to load data" messages at random when I browse different categories.
And I know it's not a caching issue on my end. I clean my browser out regularly with CCleaner, so I'm not loading in old styles/scripts.
@Tech Dude - If it were something that simple, I wouldn't have asked. ;) This is occurring across three different browsers (FireFox, Chrome, and IE) that are all completely cleared and reset on a regular basis with CCleaner (I'm a web developer/designer, and having old stuff floating around in your cache can make debugging a nightmare).

everything is wrong with this site and has been for years. It's broken and no one has any intentions of fixing it because we all keep clicking and the advertisers keep paying.
people who tell you to clear your cache blah blah blah crack me up.

It''s all fupped uck.
I unknowing answered a question recently that was asked seven years ago, resolved but was still accepting answers. Figure that one out.
The spell checker doesn't work properly half the time. It has told me "You have 48 misspelled words, which happened to be every word I had typed.
The word filters don't work properly and I ended up getting a violation notice for it. If they don't filter it out, I figure that it's not an objectionable word, even though the word has been "****ed" out before. I just figured I'll type it and the filters decide. They let it pass but it apparently was still my fault.
After adding comments to a question, the question page did not return properly. After trying again, it worked but there were then two uneditable copies of the same information. This happened twice on the same question.
I had the pleasure though of writing a message that I know will be read in which I told Yahoo just what I thought of it.
The BS goes on and on. IE isn't any better.
You have my sympathies.

Clear your browser's temporary files and history. If you're on Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet options, and then click on "Delete." Check all of the boxes (except for the first one), and then click on "Delete." Then, go to Yahoo Answers again.
