Best Bang For My Buck On A Used Toyota Hybrid?

My top priority is a car good on gas.

I think it goes without saying that Toyota invented the book on it.

Which year is best? Obviously the less miles the better, one owner. I am not a huge fan of some of the newer models that are smaller and get worse (40 mpg average) than some of the older models.

I live and work in North Florida around the Big Bend and would plan on using this car mainly for work, fun, and trips.

Is there a particular year or model I should be looking at?

Not sure your reading the same book as I am on Hybrids. Most arent measuring up to what ever one thought was the idea fuel saver car. If they were that great, you wouldnt see any for sale!!!!!

I suggest you do your shopping online, I read some of those used models are not that much cheaper than buying it brand new. I would look into doing research online on the different models first. some of the newer gasoline cars coming out now (NON Hybrid) get close to the fuel economy as the Hybrids are

My response is too long Humveetech so I have to post it as a response.

I am planning on buying it from Georgia so I don't get ripped off on sales tax. I have brought new cars before in Tallahassee, Florida. I did my research from consumer reports. The Toyota Prius is the best hybrid. Prove me wrong.

Now if money was not an object, I would buy a 2D Tesla Roadster, which is a quarter of a million dollars.

Or I would get on a waitlist for a Bugatti. Right now I only have a bachelors of science in chemical engineering, but I am planning on finishing at an Ivy League college, probably Harvard. I can deal with people making fun of my Prius. If you brought them new you got owned, but if you buy them used with one previous owner, you win.

Most Americans are stupid and don't get the oil changed. My 'brother' from College has a Prius reaching 300,000 miles! People get buyers regret, and most people have good jobs and only drive their car for six months to three years.

The best deals though on cars are 1) online sales, and 2) corporate sales.
