Is there an official German name for the Imperial tricolor that existed until 1918?

Info: In WW2 Germany, soldiers' helmets had two decals for the sides of the helmet; the left side is the Heersadler, or Army Eagle, and the other side is a shield emblem with diagonal tricolour black, white and red, the traditional colours of the German Empire.

Is there a German name for the black-white-red tricolor decal, or the tricolor in general?
