You should decide what question you are asking. Conservatives do believe that if you punish the poor they will seek higher jobs and more pay instead of accepting handouts. Of course they don't consider the people who give up and live on the streets, rob a store, etc. That some would fall back to those options doesn't enter many minds.

People will get off their lazy ***'s and make something of them selves. In many states minimum wage is lower than welfare. With that, why would anyone want to go to work when they get more money for literally doing nothing! Conservatives think that people will be forced to work without social programs, where they would never even though of it before.

First show me any conservatives advocating for the immediate elimination of all of these. Why is it anytime a conservative tries to put fiscal responsibility into any government program you liberals react as if we are clubbing baby seals to death with spotted owls? Why don't you instead realize that your continual funding of defective public assistance programs is one of the things truly ruining this country?

When welfare pays even more than the minimum wage---what is the incentive for welfare recipients to seek work, or even TRY to improve their employment skills?

Decades of evidence shows it would generate wider-spread prosperity. Suddenly? Of course not.

Now, explain how forcing your neighbors to pay rich ruling-class bureaucrats to fund POLITICALLY-defined "help" for POLITICALLY-chosen beneficiaries is THE BEST WAY to get real help to people who legitimately need it, since you ARE CLAIMING that exact thing - or your "argument" makes no sense at all - not even a tiny bit.

They will go back to feeding their own children, just like they did before gov programs.

Before these programs, there were no starving children. It would have made the news. Now if we cut one penny off the pork progs, a million of them will die overnite.

Of course the gov can't supply us even ONE starving child for questioning. "But dont worry their out there." "Trust us", from the same people who said "You can keep your...."

I imagine the first thing that would happen is a lot of out of work Democrats. The second thing would be Obama and Clinton and things like them would vanish.
