I am looking to buy a new TV but wonder if I really need to get a Smart TV? Would I be better bying WI-FI disc player?

    My experience is that the Smart TV doesn't do the Smart very well. As you noted, you can also get smart features on a Blu-ray player. But, you could also get a Roku, or other media streaming box.

    Thanks to both of you for answering. I already have an LCD TV but looking to getting a larger one, the 39" was fine at the other house but now we have a larger living room and my eyes are getting older. Thanks again
