New stick shift owner?
Is it bad to do things like rolling stop in second gear. I mean, if I'm standing still, I will pop it back into first but if I'm coming to a stop sign that I don't intend to do a full stop at (don't be a snitch) or if the traffic starts moving before I come to a complete stop, and I mean 0 mph, I'll leave it in second. I have had to teach myself everything i know up to this point about manual trans driving and now I just need to know am I destroying my clutch but I also don't wanna be rev matching into first either. What's a good range of mph before I slip it back into first. Thanks in advance.

Notice that interesting growling, grumbling noise your car makes when you do that? That's called "lugging the engine"....and will eventually cost you big bucks for the abuse. That's why 1st gear is there, man, use it.

Go look up the speed range for your second gear. When your speed is very low you should be pressing in the clutch or shifting to neutral anyways, so use first gear - it's there for a reason.

Running a stop sign is against the law and COULD get you a ticket and BIG fines. ALWAYS come to a full and complete stop at a stop sign.
