Is Boston a great place to live?

Boston and the metropolitan area is expensive, but has a lot to offer. Lots of history and character, colleges, museums and GREAT sports teams.

There are four seasons with all the weather variations, but it doesn't get so extreme.

There's plenty of water, no wild fires, not much in the way of earthquake or tornado threat. Low on the hurricane threat meter. You may get occasional blizzards and ice and the accompanying power outages, but generally not much.

No flooding to speak of. Gorgeous fall foliage, skiing nearby, rolling hills, lots of lush trees--no desert landscape, lots of ocean beaches.

I can't think of any activity that you couldn't do within a couple of hours drive.

It's a major metropolitan center with a diverse population and culture.

Sure the politics are overall liberal, but that doesn't generally affect your every day life.

Schools here are excellent. People are well educated on average.

There's a huge variety of restaurants and entertainment.

The urban areas are crowded and particularly pricey, but if you drive an hour you can find suburban and country living at more moderate cost.

I've lived in the area for 30+ years and though I've been to other places, I would not move away.

If you don't mind the high cost of living and the colder winter months then yes.

If you’re liberal. Massachusetts would be maddening for a Trump devotee.
