Since trump was investigating the Ukraine for corruption (actually just having them announce an investigation), did he not trust his own DOD?
It isn't like anyone ever said, "oh, there goes Trump fighting corruption again!"

Trump was fighting corruption and no he didn't trust the deep state members of the DOD. Why should he. They keep leaking things to the media and parties involved.
Just like Soleimani. He couldn't afford to let these leakers know.
