It's unlikely. Massachesetts is the latest hotspot for the virus.

No one knows, so asking here is useless.

When things start to reopen, it will be big news.

Unlikely that it will happen soon as cases are still going up in the US. The guidelines the President released have criteria for testing and isolation that the states can't meet yet. They do have gyms opening in the first stage, which I don't understand. I wouldn't go to a gym where people have been sweating all over the equipment!

The isolation and other steps in Massachusetts appears to be effective as number of new cases and deaths seems to be on the decline, but officials with any sense at all realize their testing capability to monitor the situation is still woefully inadequate despite Trump's continuing self-praise and false assurances. They do not want an explosion level of new cases and every smart health official points to the testing.

The reopening in Massachusetts will be highly regulated and done in steps with monitoring for the effects. Massachusetts is under a stay-at-home advisory until May 4. Schools are closed through the rest of the school year, and day care centers are closed until the end of June.

    Govenor Baker stated very recently:

“Look, I’m part of the community that would like to see something close to something like a new normal sooner rather than later, but I’m also the person who’s looking at all the data everyday and talking to the folks at the command center about what’s going on out there. I’ll be damned if the way this works is we go through this thing, we flatten the curve, we do all the stuff we’re supposed to do, and then we create some run-up again in the fall because we don’t handle the re-entry, the reopening, in a way that actually works and makes sense and keeps people safe. All of the business leaders he and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito talk with aren’t looking to jump off the deep end of the pier, they’re looking to find a way to do something safely. I think we all want to move on from this, believe me. But I think it’s really important for people to understand what’s at stake. I can’t wait to see my 91-year-old dad again, but I don’t want to see him unless the circumstances and the situation and the rules of engagement are right, and that the data, the prerequisites about what’s actually going on on the ground here in Massachusetts supports that kind of thing. Doing it wrong could create more hardship for everyone in the long run and we’re going to do everything we can to avoid that.  So, right now, people need to dig deep and stay put.”

Massachusetts is about rank #15 by population

As of April 22 morning, #3 in total cases and #3 as cases per million as 41,199 and 6032. #4 in total deaths as 1,961 and #5 in active cases as 31,120.

About 7 million people, 175,372 tested, 23% positive of those tested, 4.8% dead of those testing positive. Of course, they generally only test sick people, health care workers, government officials, rich people. They just don't know without widespread tests how many people had very mild cases untested and recovered.

They need widespread testing capability to know the developed immunity and how to protect the elderly and those less healthy who are younger. Massachusetts also is able to see what happens to states that re-open their activities quickly.

If they’re first, let me know, and I’ll head straight there from Oklahoma.
