True or false: Most Americans think the opposite, but USA is actually the most politically correct country in the world?

Don't know many Americans do you.  America invented politically correctness and it has gotten way out of hand and over board.  Many Americans could care less about being politically correct.

Political Correctness started in the US in the late 80's at the University of Wisconsin in Madison Wisconsin.  it is very much an offshoot of the feminist movement because in education most geniuses were White males,Beethoven,Bach,   Mozart, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Plato, Euclid, Aristotle, Homer,  Einstein, Newton. So since there were not many women in the teaching of art, history and science there was a search to find  what women there were and to put them in the curriculum along side the men and not mention the word genius I know because I was teaching art in a University at the time and asked to review one of the new politically correct text books.  Once I read it with horror I was glad I was leaving academia. So since it started in the US it is more embedded in our society to the great detriment of our education system which was last damaged by John Dewey's theories and now the scourge of PC which because there is no vaccine for it is more dangerous than the Corona virus. 

As far as I know, that's unknowable. Tell us how you think we should know it. Anyone can split hairs over opinionated semantics. That's all you're doing and you come across as though you think you're clever.

you need to define "politically correct." If you mean thoughtful and polite, no, you Americans are well known to be loud, ignorant, and unpleasant.

     Thomas Jefferson once said, "I have sworn on the altar of God, eternal violence against every form of tyranny over the mind of man."

     He was writing to a Baptist minister about an extremist faith that used SHAME, FEAR and GUILT over its congregation to force compliance. 

     Today, the PC culture, both private and govt, uses the same guilt and shame, pluse the fear of poverty and banishment from society. 

     People are NOT speaking their consciences nor even considering their heartfelt beliefs. That is horrifying.

Well, it is a country where if you're not politically correct the FBI and other government agencies will try to ruin your life.

That has always been obvious. Which country created political correctness? It was not Europe or Canada.
